Given the fact that Mackinnon is good defensively, his nearly identical offensive impact to Kuch puts him miles ahead in terms of impact on winning. Mack is the real MVP. Hope he doesn't get robbed again like in 2018.

I remember when Joe Sakic picked MacKinnon over Seth Jones and a lot of Ave fans were upset. Seth was Popeye's Jones kid and Popeye being such Nuggets fan favorite that it seemed like the pick. Looking back of course Sakic made the right call. There is another story you should look into. Fight between Sakic and Roy on how to build the team after we won the presidents cup in 2014 Roy's first year. Roy did not get his way and quit.

I had to convince my friend MacKinnon was exceptional and would be elite. Turns out Jones wasn't a miss and that a few years later Makar would step in as the elite D. Both are highlight reel machines.

On ice I think it's a toss up between MacK and Kuch, but MacKs leadership outside the rink gives him the edge for me. So I'd give the hart to him.

The NHL absolutely robbed him of that homepoint streak. I am still speechless that he didn't get even a secondary assist. I guarantee you he's going to end up with a point in every home game besides that one. There's no way that was not intentional by the NHL to rob him of a Gretzky record

Damn.. watched live. His almost in the crease but above the glove shot was insane. I really thought initially he might have done it in the crease.. still shaking my head from that one.. might be my #1 all time goal from him. Straight down the middle too

I'm pretty new to hockey! Just started watching it really for the first time in my life this season. I play indoor soccer and what really caught my attention is how certain teams use the boards more then others! Anyways, I'll throw my MVP pick in the hat with Marco Rossi.

It should be MacKinnon, unless Matthews hits 70, with that I think it should be him. No one’s scored 70 goals for more than 30 years.

I'd say Kucherov for MVP. He's been involved with like 50% of ALL points scored by Tampa. MacKinnon is right behind him and both have insane teams backing them up.

Thanks for this. MacK is the MVP but he just won’t win it. The East Coast bias hurts him. The McDavid mythology hurts him. Playing with Miko and Cale hurts him. NHL writers just don’t watch the Avalanche.

Hart's gotta go to Kuch. He's been in the lead like 80% of the season and still is. He's got like 50% of the points for Tampa, a player singlehandedly having the points to make the difference on whether the team gets in the playoffs is definitely mvp material. Most assists ever by a RW player this season, 3rd in most points ever for a RW this season, I don't see how it doesn't go to him.
