The real light is so under powered, it actually helps add to the effects of the OSL effect. The "glow" from the green stones is done so well, it looks like real light.
@reliabledm851614 күн бұрын
Considering the OSL is a different color from the real light, I don't see how anyone could say you're cheating.They also come from two different points. Its cleverly done if anything.

There is no cheating in art. (Other than stealing other people's work, of course)

I have to say, you have found a magic formula for your videos. They are at the same time entertaining, soothing, and inspiring. Watching you create using a myriad of skills from carving and sculpting in many mediums, your paining skills, your skill with different clays and plasters and epoxies - it's all fascinating. The completed piece is always far more impressive than I anticipated watching the building process. I have found myself wishing that several of your pieces of art were adorning my home!

I'm so glad you work with other real artists like yourself instead of using AI "art" for your concept and finalized work. It feels so much more alive. Incredible work

There’s nothing more annoying than someone saying; “that’s CHEATING!”. What this statement shows is just how insecure people can be about hobbies. Wonderful job as usual 🙏🏼👍🏻

Agreed. "Cheating" is breaking rules. Art is not a sport. There are no rules.

I've been watching you since the channel was tiny and have seen every video, many multiple times. This one was special . . . not in some intense transformative way, but I feel like it highlighted (or maybe object sourced lighted) so many aspects of your content that I love. Creative/original crafts, excellent scripting with soothing narration, thoughtful story-telling/world building with the WIW (and/or the story of each craft), and perhaps my favorite . . . your perfectly dry humor when you showcase mistakes in the crafting process. The humor was top notch in this one. Love this channel man, thanks for your hard work and for sharing your creative endeavors with us. God bless!!

I’m able to recall your references to Compaq, 70s wood-paneled walls and Sam and Frodo’s water supply, but I can’t remember if you ever mentioned the painting style you used in this video. It’s so satisfying that your prospector seems to have finally found those glowing green gems! I love everything about this video! Thanks Boylei!!

OSL enhanced with or enhancing a real light sources is... not /common/ in Warhammer painting, but definitely not unknown. It's absolutely OSL. Even if it weren't, you have a separate OSL effect from the glowing green rocks, which is pure OSL. So yeah, you're good. Your OSL bonafides are bonafidden.

I can practically hear the story from how that mine collapsed. "So you want to know about the mine stranger? There is not much to tell, the Gertuga Mine, was a large claim taken by Elrico Gertuga, a Mexican who was trying to build a new life here." "I was one of his co-workers. I prospected, dug, surveyed, and examined the ores." "It was a decent mine. Lasted for three years and made a big profit before it all went to purgatory." "It was a dark spring night. The sky was bleeding with rain and lightning. A lightning strike had struck the main powerline leading into the new mine shaft." "The shaft had been excavated a couple of hours before and the air was still dust-filled. A nearby lamp that had not been disconnected from the powerline erupted like a firecracker, causing a dust explosion." "Parts of the mine collapsed, burying ten miners alive, including Elrico. Nobody survived and the mine was declared too dangerous by the mayor who no doubt was bribed by Elrico's rivals to shut down the mine after he died." "It has been ten years since that event but people keep coming here to investigate that old hole in the mountains. Stories about glowing green gems and collapsed tunnels hiding veins of silver or gold." "I doubt any of those stories are true. Something sure is fishing about the mine. Some of the other miners in the area keep mentioning seeing a green light at night in that area. Hearing strange noises. Like pickaxes, laughter, singing, and screams." "And people have gone missing in that mine. It is fairly unstable, what with the lack of maintenance. So it doesn't shock me. But the numbers are way too big to be constant collapses. Around five people per year disappear down that hole. And that's an average. Over fifty people. Gone." "If you insist on going there take these keys. They should give you access to the tools, wires, and resources of the workshop in the main shaft by the entrance. It is an old Civil War fort supply room door I found in a derelict fort near Texas. You would need a lot of dynamite to open that one by force. So I doubt anybody's managed to peel it open." "I haven't gone back to that claim ever since it collapsed. I will not stop you, that would make me a big hypocrite. As a young lad, I left home to find my fortune as well. But I hope you don't treat your life too carelessly stranger." "After all, you only got one life. And that mine... That mine doesn't seem to want to let go of the past nor anybody who enters it."

BTW, the PVA in PVA Glue stands for PolyVinyl Acetate. I think PolyVinyl Alcohol is usually abbreviated as PVOH for some reason, and it is used in manufacturing lots of stuff, oddly including PVA glue. I fell down the rabbit hole of researching different glues, how they are made, and why they work once. Fascinating and useless knowledge, so I wanted to share. 😂
