This turned out really cool, I think it would be even cooler if you add just a tiny bit of moss beginning to climb up his armour and in the divets of his skull.
@thadrobinson83432 күн бұрын
This is a really amazing vignette, beyond my current technical abilities. My only aesthetic critique is that the skull looks like it's still very upright for a fully ripened cadaver, I would expect it to be lolling off kilter once the body shrinks up and the bones have had time to disarticulate..

SUper cool! If you want some constructive criticism: a little moss and/or scatter over the knight would sell that they have been there ages - seasons - and that the duff from the trees has started to build up on and around them.

Fantastic bro so well done only thing i can see to make it a we bit better is the position of the skull. I think if he's been sitting there so long then his skull would be sitting at a less natural position, maybe back against the ground or sunken into the Armour.
@CTDioramas7 күн бұрын
Thank you! I did play around with it a little before finally deciding on this position. I was just kinda worried about breaking the delicate resin prints.

Really looks nice. This is the first video of yours I'm seeing. One detail question: dry brushing the steel color onto the raised parts makes sense normally, since that's where any paint would be rubbed off etc., but if his now dead body has been here a while, those are specifically the spots that would rust first. I'd think doing that drybrushing with rust instead of the raw steel might contribute to the aging and weathering you're going for with this scene. Thoughts?

You really need to upgrade your tools, otherwise you can't be the best only using your skill
@SlartiMarvinbartfast8 күн бұрын
That's brilliant, I love the attention to detail. One minor criticism - the end music didn't really match the subject matter. Out of interest, when using soil, compost, etc do you sterilise it first by cooking it in some way? There's a lot of bacteria, mould spores, seeds, insects eggs, etc in such materials which could, over time, have a negative affect on the diorama for example, your health too perhaps. You could cook the soil/compost in the oven I guess but that could end up stinking out your house, so maybe cook outside on a tray placed on a portable gas stove instead? Or the microwave? I'm no idea, not a modeller myself, just some thoughts. I'm sure there's some info on that online.
@CTDioramas7 күн бұрын
Yes, it's normally good practice to sterilise any natural product for this sort of use. I like to use the oven (normally when my wife isn't at home!) to slowly heat potting soil, etc. It's a relatively easy way to prevent issues down the line 👍

Why?
@MrJodrick4 күн бұрын
Some AI* Other ai are helping save lives in the medical field
@Just1Nora3 күн бұрын
So, artist input...I think ai can be a decent tool to help people visualize where they want a work to go, or how to do something along a certain style, but it is definitely no replacement for actual artists and shouldn't be used as such. I've noticed an absolutely MASSIVE uptick of homegoods and coloring books that are clearly created with ai and not changed. They are sold through small volume or print on demand companies and pop-up publishers in the case of the coloring books. It's skeevy because most people either won't notice or just don't care, but the money goes to giant mega-corps overseas when they could be purchasing books from actual artists. The same goes for decor items. I "watch" YT videos of people reading horror stories published on reddit, and almost all of them now just use straight ai images for their backgrounds. Many are glitchy and weird to hilarious in the background areas. The real reason I dislike that so much is that each image takes as much energy to produce as charging the average smartphone once. That might not seem significant until you think about how many billions of images are created, not to mention the people replaced in customer service roles. In the USA big companies are talking about buying out nuclear power plants and selling a fraction of the energy produced back to the community while using most of it to power ai farms, which is absolutely insane. If you must use it, use it wisely and with discretion.
@CharlieNoodles2 күн бұрын
@3r1k_2generative ai is a soulless, cynical bastardisation of human creativity. Trained off of stolen work so that some asshole tech bro can get rich by replacing human artists. F$%k ai. Gross doesn’t even come close to describing it.
