I had to instantly pause this episode for a moment & add my comments on, Something that's Awesome about this video. When you listen to the dialog between these two Men & Mopar Enthusiasts, you'll hear the Car Owner say that He's keeping his Road Runner to give to his Boy.. Man... How Truly Awesome Is That!!?. Makes ya smile. Don't it?! Love this 'Show!' 👍 Thanks

Twenty years from now, those cars will likely be much worse. They haven't been "touched" in thirty-five+ years. Too many projects, too little time/money.

Or at least build a damn barn door in front of the car. It shouldn't take 36 years to get it done. Heck, nail a tarp to the rafters to keep the snow away from the body.

The harsh reality of it is if the boys do not have any interest in fixing cars like this before they are grown, they will never have the drive to do a restoration. Either you have the car sickness or you dont. These cars will probably be stuck in the same spot for many years froom now.

This may be true. But find another one... untouched... in that condition; it'd prolly take you longer than 20 years to do so in even worse condition... and they'd be just as valuable in a "barn find" corral auction as they would on stage at an auction house. IMHO this guy deserves props for being the caretaker of his life. Priceless

Mixed feelings. While I know the guy just cannot let go of them. At some point one has to come to reality and say, I am not going to do anything with them. Sell them, or sell 2 and get one restored as a driver. I am no better, I have stuff I just hate to part with, but the wife keeps reminding me I am 63, and the ship has sailed on ever getting to different projects that I have plans for. I watched a video awhile back the guy was in his 70's, and had 30 vehicles sitting around, every one of them was a project, that he was going to restore. But most have been sitting for 30 years plus.

In 70' Dad bought a RoadRunner, Rally Red, white vinyl top and interior, rally gauges, power steering, front discs, cowl hood with 383 and turn indicators visible through windshield along with 383 MAGNUM badges on each side of cowl, RoadRunner badges along with RR decal on both doors under and a bit in front of driver side and passenger chrome mirrors(pass. was an option) w/white reflective rear trunk stripe and RR decal, TF tranny, rear end was a posi, what TP and gear ratio I don't remember and probably never knew. I didn't turn 4 until Oct of 70' and I remember all that about that car, probably because I had dreams of being anointed with the keys on my 16th birthday. When I was around 5 he started sitting me on his right knee and with power steering I could put it in R and back out of the driveway, hand over hand , Dad was on gas and brake of course, I couldn't reach them, probably a good thing then, put it in D and go, there were so many looks from people and even cops seeing me hand over hand the wheel but back then it wasn't big deal, there wasn't a seat belt or mandatory insurance law then. Then one day I hand over hand into the driveway and Mom saw me "driving" well you know, and I even knew then, her silence was worse than a b*tchin my dad out, which she never did, Dad and me got out and he said take it easy he's actually a better driver than a lot of adults. Well, he sold it when I wasn't quite 8, needless to say I was not happy, I wanted to at least remove the Meep Meep, you all know what I mean. What hurt more was he sold it to a friend that lived right down the road from my aunt, dad's sister, so I saw that car sitting in his buddy's driveway many times for about 4 years, and everytime after seeing her sitting in that driveway I'd immediately turn and look at Dad just like mom did, in silence. What's cool though and I did not know this until Graveyard Cars, one of the RoadRunners assembly plants was in Fenton MO, and we live across the river from StL in IL and Dad worked for Illinois Central RR( I like how the RR fits into this) being that the assembly plants were so close to buyers in the StL area and other plants, did people actually get to get in and drive em' home from the factory if you were so close? Why put em on a car hauler train? And Dad might have hauled his car after it crossed the Mississippi to the yard where they offloaded new cars from all 3 auto assembly plants from StL. Anyway, my bucket list #1 should be no mystery.
