I say this and would like to give a little bit of advice. I can tell him this, once he shakes off the Divorce ( meets a Filipina)..he needs to realize ALL of the women he dates will immediately fall for him. Why? He is a very eligible catch for Any and I mean ANY! Beautiful Filipina. He's grounded, responsible, smart and from the interview is a very caring person. I wish him the best. Just be happy now..because your search for a Soul Mate is already started. All the things my Fiance has said to me..I see in your guest. Love the interview. With regards to Health Care you can insure yourself here in the Phillippines paying premiums as Medicare premium. $149/month and you have coverage. Example if you get Kaiser or other provider health insurance, it will cover 90% of medical bills. Since most expats are Senior you can get PhilHealth and that covers 10-20% of billable medical bills. Then if you want to be a member of this organization, it has benefit of free unlimited Doctors consultation for life as long as you are a member. Let me know if you need more info. I am a retired ER Nurse in New York City since 2015 and I’m relocating in Lipa, Batangas next year.

This is your best interview yet, it's positive and the gentleman has a good sense of his requirements, he's not being guided by the lust of the flesh (women that is). I agree with him in lots of his ways, his dislike of flies on meat in the open market, eating some parts and blood of animals. By the way lots of mangoes and bananas from the Philippines are exported to the USA and Canada compliments of "Dole".

Not to put down foreigners who go to the Phils and retire and marry. But it seems that the kind of women you all are ending up with are not ones who grew up having house help, more than two in some cases including a “yaya” and at least a driver. So hearing about possibly getting a live-in nurse or caretaker is unheard of, for foreigners. It is actually a lot more common in the Phils than foreigners think. If you go to the market or the mall you will find the help usually following the Senora (that’s what they called the female employer) or simply their “Ma’am”. You go the the restaurant and you see the yaya feeding the small kids. You go to the school and the yayas are usually brining lunch to the kids. The driver is outside the mall or the market while the Ma’am is shopping with help, waiting for a text to pick up in the front. We had one that was going to college while employed at the house. Sometimes one of the help might be married to the driver and their child, sometimes children live with employer as well. Many altho not all treat house help as part of the family so it’s not really obvious to anyone who is not used to the lifestyle, like many foreigners. Look at homes for sale and you will find that many are built with space for the maids’ quarter/female staff and a separate dwelling for the driver or male staff. The “dirty kitchen” that foreigners hear about is an auxiliary kitchen, usually where the help will prepare and cook the meals. The main Kitchen is often small because the employers don’t usually do the cooking, those are done outside. There’s a lot about the culture in the Phils that many foreigners are not aware of.

No need MOVE LONG TERM. Tropical escape is goood...hopes for woman may happen, tread carefully and be particular. Be guided by your experience but know that most are good people. Best is.... have anual trip, extend tourist visa to overcome american winters nov to may, ....,, and retun back home to normal to enjoy summer and family and look after house and garden...no complication. I been doing it 30 years now. Best both worlds. New experiences always sound great and are but expat youtubers overdo it, presenting life as heavenly paradise with a caring woman and no concerns whatever....... WITH bundles of cash To overcoming sweltering heat, strange menu, and do nothing useful all day, just cycle around visit other expats. Probably boaring for you as a deep thinker like me * just another view to share your deciding mind. Cheers.

Thanks for the videos! Very helpful. But I keep hearing that food cost are about the same as the U.S., but the only things I really eat are fresh vegetables, fruit, nuts, fresh eggs and fish. I don’t eat meat, no sweets, no sugar, no rice, no pasta, no chips and no dairy besides eggs. I don’t drink alcohol. I drink mostly water and coffee. Other than eating eggs and fish I’m completely vegan. I cook with olive oil or bake or grill. We have a garden every year and have chickens for fresh eggs. So I’d really love to hear from someone on what it would cost me to eat like this in the Philippines? No fast food unless it’s just coffee or in the states I occasionally eat subway. It’s all fresh vegetables, fruit, nuts, eggs, fish and wheat bread. Any ideas on what I would I need to budget for food in the Philippines? About the by-pass surgery in Thailand: i was living there in February of 2020 and needed to get my heart re-built. It was everyone's opinion that I had to go back to the U.S to have the operation - free - at a VA hospital. I spent 1 1/2 days in the hospital in Chiang Mai to get all the testing done and that cost me U$800.00. I was sure the cost for my by-pass would be astronomical. So I would like to know if the figure you give is correct also. That would be little more than the cost of the flight to the States. I would never have left there. BTW I have seen on KZbin that people go to India to get this kind of surgery done at good hospitals for 1 - 2,000.00.

A very good point in this interview. I've always thought that the type of caretaker I'd want is someone who only gets paid if you're satisfied and kept well, and loses their income otherwise.
