In WW2, the top income tax bracket in the UK was 99.25%. In 1930, in the lead up to WW2, it was 60%. Now it's 45%, and most top earners avoid the majority of taxes by holding their assets overseas. We don't need to go all the way to that 99%+ figure, but we should consider increasing the rate slightly, and at the very least, crack down on corporations and rich individuals who don't already pay their fair share.
