Elvis suits at these early shows weighed around 25-30 pounds n his American Eagle suit that he wore at the Aloha concert 1973 that was broadcasted around the world and seen by 1.5 Billion people weighed around 70 pounds due to all the REAL GEMS that they sewed on. This is one reason why he sweat n also the bright lights I got to only one concert Aloha concert 1973 n sat 3rd row center n couldn't take my eyes off of him ( I was 21) I forgot to look at your play list but will give you a few songs that I love of the 500 songs he sang( around that many) " Make The World Go Away Vagus 1970,I'll Remember You Aloha concert 1973, Burning Love Aloha concert 1973, You Gave Me A Mountain Aloha concert 1973 Cry Daddy with his daughter Lisa Marie singing duet with him( she was 9 when he died. Dude, it's really cool that some of the younger generation is learning about the gift to the world that is Elvis. I've been a fan since I was 5 and I'm knocking on 50s door now. But yeah, it's really amazing and somewhat surprising to turn on KZbin and see all the different ages of people and nationalities that are giving him the respect he deserves. But there are so many much better songs hat I don't see being reacted to. If I tried to name them all, I'd probably be typing for like a week so I'll just name a couple albums for now. So check out the album Elvis is Back and since you reacted to the A Little Less Conversation remix, you should really enjoy the album Viva Elvis .So start with those 2 for now and enjoy. And I would say, you're just scratching the surface but that's such understatement, it's ridiculous
@trishf35762 жыл бұрын
As mentioned below, he was not a songwriter however songwriters loved to have him sing their songs. Not all of his songs were covers. Many were songs written for him or submitted as demos which he chose. Polk Salad was not a single release....it was just a beat that he enjoyed and as you saw with your own eyes, made a great live performance. He sped it up so by 1972 it was an even bassier, more beefy performance. Bob Dylan stated that his most treasured recording is Elvis's version of Dylan's song, Tomorrow is a Long Time. X

I'm truly loving your reactions to this. I can tell your connection to this is genuine just like my own is when I look at it. I never saw any of this footage until about 2 years ago even though I remember listening to him on the radio and seeing him on TV as a very little kid and I think he died when maybe I was in fourth grade or something but then later when I played in rockabilly bands and stuff I covered his early stuff. I felt like his only good stuff was from 1956 to 1958 before he went in the military everything after that was just sell out crap. But after playing that stuff for years and getting great audience reactions, now that I'm older and there's all this wonderful footage available on KZbin and I have a much better picture of who he really was rather than just the rumors that you used to hear, I'm loving this stuff. So I am on this journey right with you man. Maybe a little bit ahead but not by much. I'm glad you're doing this. And yeah by all accounts, that guy was a funny-ass dude.

Hi Jigsaw … Sean ? Elvis was reading a note from a woman in the audience that he had saved in his belt. He died in 1977 at age 42. Love your enthusiasm and sparkly personality. Check out Love Me Tender from those Las Vegas shows. He jumps off the stage and walks through the audience from one end to the other and gives a million kisses. I saw him twice. Highest priced tickets $10 ($50 in 2022 USD). 3rd row center. I could feel the sweat. Google the cost for the American Eagle Hawaii jumpsuit. You will not believe the cost. PS: do you have an email address you can give out ?

Tony Joe White invented "Swamp rock" he also wrote and performed Polk Salad Annie before Elvis. Elvis heard it liked it and did his own cover to it the Elvisway. Elvis was not a songwriter so most of his songs was done by other artists before him. If you like you can go look at the originals and compare them to Elvisversions.

Most singers are just that singers/performers...just as actors act & dont write their scripts, classical orchestras perform the music of others...it's always been the way yet for some reason Elvis is always pulled up that he didnt write his songs 🙄 Dont get that with Whitney Houston, even the Beatles did covers eg Twist & Shout and quite a few more, and Michael Jacksons "Thriller", "Rock with you" were written for him by Rod Temperton (altho yes MJ & Beatles did write so im not saying they didnt!)...older famous singers like Edith Piaf didnt write her songs. People would be surprised that Elton John has his own songwriter....its common today, Beyonce, Rihanna, many rappers use ghostwriters, it isnt anything new or odd...a bit of basic research on the most prolific unknown songwriters gives a taster. Elvis put alot into the production side to make the songs fit his style...some didnt/dont even do that!! RIP Elvis....the GOAT 🙏❣
