Why don’t you all book a track day on a legit safe race track, if you race on the street be prepared to suffer the consequences, your all confused about how him and his leathers got cut up? Take a second and look at the surroundings ( crash barriers, road signs, rocks, and uneven pavement) all of these are deadly at 100 mph , just saying

100% agree but alot of tracks have strict tech inspections. My closest track is 72 miles away and they go all out with the inspection of the bike like pad life, chain tension, you can't have a fairing bolt missing you gotta have certain gear ect you can't take that $1000 marketplace bike to most tracks. I have to go 114 miles just to get to the closest track that my bike will pass tech on. It's a daily driver that just passed safety inspection for the state😂

I'm somewhere around the same, beginning on a tote goat, Honda 50 to a 750, 850 Commando, then an 87 750 Ninja, VFR 800 and my 2009 R-1. What ended my riding was the day I felt confident enough to remove the remainder of the chicken strips. Stopping to clean the face shield, I was thinking I could use more power. Riding home at the speed limit, I meet a lifted PU taking half of my lane and running me into the gravel shoulder, looking at a 30' embankment. Standing on the pegs dirt bike style, I rode it out and re-entered the road enraged. I caught him in seconds then it dawned upon me. How would I stop him, and if I did, what would I do if a neanderthal exited the truck? I rode her home, removed the body work, and did a complete cleaning. My wife came to the shop and asked what I was doing, to which I replied. When its sold, I will tell you. I gave the leathers and boots to the kid who bought her but kept my Bell Star Carbon. PS I hope he is still alive...

Worst thing besides the crash was whoever had some medical training completely did the wrong thing. Mechanism of injury was rapid deceleration and blunt force trauma. His helmet should have never came off his head and c spine should have been held to prevent neck trauma from getting worse. Broken ribs means possible internal injuries and bleeding. Letting him move around was the worst thing you could have let him do. Plain and simple speed caused this crash coupled with poor road conditions hope the guys ok and recovers

I'm a big believer in getting "warmed up" when you first head out on a ride like this. Meaning your tires, your bike, and your brain. Don't let adrenaline overwhelm your reflexes. What caused the crash was that he was riding too fast for the road conditions and his front tire washed out. Plain and simple. Glad he got up from it but riding like a GP racer on a road with potholes and then wondering "What happened ?? " Is kinda silly.

@@kolloduke3341 On the line he was on, he was already missing the potholes. Besides, at that speed he wasn't going to see it. Plain and simply put, he was riding too fast on roads that we can see are not in great condition. I thought the guy who was filming at the start was going to crash His throttle control was awful squirting on and off as if he wanted to bin it... In reality, sports bikes are not a good idea. They make speed seem easy. Going 100mph feels like 50. Far better to have a bike that does not go round corners so fast...at least if you do crash, you crash at sensible speeds. The other point is that less sporty bikes give you more warning that they are about to throw you off. Sports bikes are either gripping the road or spitting you off. There is no in-between...

Simply sitting g in the sun for 20 minutes gets them warm enough to stick. Street tires aren't the same as slicks. Street tires run much cooler. This rider crashed due to his bad technique.. he thinks he's lessening lean anglez when in fact, that crossed up look puts MORE angle on the bike. Even if you are right, good riders aren't crashed out by a little slippage... Y'all MFs will blame anything but yourselves.. That's why you all suck so much..

In the '90s, I attended a road racing school in the Northeast to earn my racing license and hit the track. The experience was both safe and exhilarating, set against a stunning backdrop. I honed my skills, becoming a much stronger rider, and it shifted my entire outlook-after that, I never felt the urge to ride aggressively on the streets again. Looking back, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made as a motorcyclist.

Looking at doing that this Spring in Charlotte NC. The problem is once you gain confidence, it is so temping to have a 145 HP Bike under you. The urge to hit it hard is to tempting. I'm looking at adding the BMW R1300 to my fleet but the older I get, the less I want to be killed or worse injured for the rest of my life! A split second and that's all it can take. I'll push it 15/20 MPH over depending on road conditions but no more breaking land speed records for me! One of the reasons I watch these vids is to remind me of the above statement..... Be safe

Sometimes it's nothing more than just riding beyond our capabilities. I done this on the road a few years ago, Broke my neck C2 in two places and my back in four places, I got up, walking around asking my mates to pick my bike up as my neck was hurting. The following year I had a great session at Cadwell park, but then crashed again at Portimao...I'm getting too old for this madness LOL.

True. the older you get the better you were...use this. No more GSXR and Honda. Aprilia 660 now..still get a taste. Moving someone that crashed is a bad idea as stated in other comments. Cause of crash was obvious. over corrected with high speed. Momentum wins every time. I have learned from this video and others. Have fun out there. Not judgy at all. love fast speeds and twistys too. peace.

Can happen to anyone but I tend to agree - riding any road is always going to mean you have to go 60-70% just because there are idiots coming the other way, there are animals, there are potholes, there is oil, dust, gravel etc. any number of hazards that require space to navigate when they come upon you without warning. You go to a track if you want to go 100% or thereabouts. Public roads have no margin for error - tracks do.

It looked to me like the corner had two bends, the second being sharper. If you look at the angle from the leading guy, crash guy closes in on him real fast around the second bend, indicating that he didn't slow down enough like the leader. From there, the corner became too tight and he turned/leaned too much. I agree with some of the sentiments here, those roads leave no room for mistakes; your friend is truly lucky.

I understand the urge for the excitement of flirting with disaster but is it really worth injury up to including death. Everything from Honda 350 (first Bike), Harley (Road King, Heritage Softail, Electra Glide), Yamaha (V65) Yamaha 650, Vespa GTS 300 (don't laugh, really fun!) and my newest 2024 Bonneville T120. Obviously non of these are racing bikes. There's a reason for that. You guys ride like it's the Isle of Mann! Definitely fun to watch and your skills are off the charts, BUT running on public roads like that is crazy. Some of the Tail of the Dragon footage is insane. This is a 30 MPH road and you get pissed if a crate is in your way going 45! Yes, you should pullover but you guys come by at 70+ MPH OVER the limits! I had a very close call from a KTM that swept by on the Blue Ridge PKWY up by Black Bolsum Knob. I was riding mid 60's on a 45MPH section. Missed by inches and he left a vapor trail! Am I the only one extremely worried seeing how fast they remove his helmet and made him stand up ? I’m french and rider too (not that level tho) and we learn that only rescue medics should remove helmet or any kind of equipment after a crash. MaxWirst mentionned that one of the dude helping is a medic but still it’s pretty fast imo. Without a scan you don’t know what’s beneath someone skin that’s why here medics immobilize riders neck after removing helmets. They air lift him and being airlifted is a sign that his injuries could have been very serious. The kinetic of the crash was quite scary ! Water, cigarettes, food must not be given to someone after a crash. First you secure the people and try to avoid any over-accident, then you call 911 and take care of the wounded in the mean time (making shade for him, wet cloth to refresh them or warm blanket in cold days). Anyway good recovery and ride safe ✌️Glad he is OK now !

In highschool in Lancaster my buddy had a nice little prelude and we would pull with our parents the whole, I am staying the night at his place and he was staying at mine. We would pull all nighters without any drugs or alcohol believe it or not, we would take turns running Bouquet Canyon Rd from Elizabeth lake rd all the way down to Saugus.. Then turn around and run it back.. Lucky Im still here.

He rolls off a fraction before the front tucked which means in that moment there was too much load transferred to the front tyre. He felt he needed to tighten his line but for the load the front tyre was already under, he closed the throttle too much in that moment for the available grip. That is what actually happened, however I would be curious to know why he needed to alter his line and why he needed to close the throttle so quickly because that is the reason the crash occurred in the first instance. He does start to drift wide very slightly but not so much that he wasn't going to make the bend. Perhaps this "pushing" (or "understeer" as we could call it in the UK) was enough to spook him into needing to make an adjustment.

Never Ride Faster Than Your Angel Can Fly!! I had a major accident, I ripped my helmet & gloves off, my helmet was causing me to hyper ventilate, I got carried away with a smashed elbow, impact damage to both hips, internal bleeding, a torn tendon in my shoulder oh & a broken back, luckily my spinal cord remained intact, I was back on a bike in 12 months, only for a short confidence ride & bought a new bike the following year, I got lucky.

Not for nothing but when was the anniversary of that memorial/crucifix? Crazy how out of all the areas he could have went into, it was there! With no guard rail, next to someone that lost their life (R.I.P. to that person) & still came out walking! Jesus was with him that day & He is definitely telling that man something! I pray that he has/had a fast recovery!

Ride ACH all the time, that turn at triple digits requires game, it’s bumpy and loss of contact surface caused from uneven terrain caused this, as he wasn’t braking at all, at least looks like there’s wasn’t any braking going on. You guys need to slow down. Leave ten percent of your abilities for those times you’re unsure.

He may have rolled off the throttle a little too much, at these high rpms it's hard to dose that, so he overloaded the front tire.
