Ange is the head coach mate. The director of football Johan Lange does the deals and Ange's biggest power is the option to veto signings. We loaned him in an emergency last January and then went out of our way to not pay the buy option to loan him again early in the summer. It's the most obvious box ticking/stopgap signing ever. Absolutely hate when managers do this to their players. Ultimately it's on you as a manager whenever results don't go your way because you picked the players, they didn't come begging to you to start games. It's not like Werner gave away the ball so often that lead to the goal, he gave a good pass to Brennan Johnson who couldn't even finish in the first half. If a player has an off game say it was a tactical change and he needs to be rested for the next game and deal with him one to one without getting the media involved. I am a big fan of his managerial tactics but this is extremely poor and unprofessional from Ange Postecoglou.

There are many players in this team who consistently make unforgivable errors and timo Werner is the main one. And all this “he’s picking on the weak” bs is ridiculous. I have seen the other side of Timo Werner as a Chelsea player who was a great player who caused a lot of problems for the opposition and was unlucky in the amount of goals he had disallowed by a extremely tight offside decision. The fact that this embarrassment of a manager has been found out by the rest of the league and refuses to entertain the idea of a set piece coach even though they have conceded the most goals from set pieces and have a poor record of scoring from them. I'm obviously not in his head, but I'd give 85% of possibility to this scenario: The pressure is Really starting to get to him, he feels that the sacking is close and he starts to defend himself by blaming others. You clearly have not watched the game or understand Ange’s vision here. He’s not mad at Werner just because he was bad - he was mad because he didn’t even bring the bare minimum required from a professional player. Sure Porro and Bissouma made a lot of blunders here and there, but they still hustled and showed will to fight. Werner was sluggish the whole time, way off positioning, made passes out of bounds way too many times to be considered professional, his ball trapping skill was nonexistent, he kept dribbling over himself and couldnt deliver a single cross. There is a bare minimum you need to be able to bring to a professional, world’s largest stage, and Werner couldn’t deliver on that. Ange is mad because he knows Werner is capable of doing that, but he isn’t doing that despite all the expectations from the fans and his own teammate. Ange is simply saying out loud what all Tottenham fans are thinking, so if you Spurs fans want to be serious about winning something for once, drop this sympathy and understand what winning mentality is

That fraud of a manager brought Timo back to the club when he wasn't even good enough last season, he's running those players into the ground and he's wondering why they are playing bad, they are probably fed up with his playing style, it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens.

Ange is of course the world's best coach in football history, but I'm not sure why he said this today - it goes against his own principles. He's always covered for Timo and others. Although I was myself a bit tired of Timo today too.

Ange talks like Spurs are in the relegation zone - if he carries on like that they soon will be

maybe Timo does respond to the stick better than the carrot, his best game for Chelsea came after he got fired up after getting hit in the face

What is up with OHara, so its ok for him to call out Managers and Players live on National Radio but manager who under pressure from the media cant call out a player who lets face it isnt good enough.
