Horimiya is in fact a shounen manga. Also, Shoujo and Shounen aren't genres. They are demographics. Shoujo means young girl and shounen means young boy. In terms of manga it refers to the male and female demographic between 12 and 18. 18+ would be Josei (women) and Seinen (men).

I know you want them to confess because it's obvious to us that they like each other, but remind yourself that they're both awkward high schoolers, and this is an anime. Give them time. 😁 If you end up liking the show, definitely go back and finish reading the manga afterwards. There's a lot of stuff that got cut for time because they wanted to tell the whole story in one season. The anime is still done well, but the manga goes more in depth (especially with the side characters).
