1:17 I used the wind conversion calculator you used initially, and got around 6.42 as well. However that was not specifically tailored for the 60m outdoors so I found another (trustworthy) one which had it at *6.38* with no wind! VERY impressive!

A great opener for Kishane Thompson especially with the injuries he had the past couple of years. While some people are going to use this race as a fuel to predict or flat out call him the next 100m World Champion, there's a lot of time between now and September for Worlds. It's too early for that. So I wish him the best throughout the entire season and hopefully we see similar but frequent performances like this from him moving forward. The race in Kazakhstan will be intriguing.

I ran indoor and outdoor races back when I was in high school. I really didn't like the indoor track meets. I wasn't an explosive sprinter out of the blocks. My speed would increase the further down the track I could get before the finish line. I also needed all of the normal outdoor turn and finish. Meaning that I would out run most guys outdoors but not so much indoors. My point is that I don't think you can really judge the fastest man or woman shorter than the 200 mt event. Me being just under 5'6". I was always surprised to see a big man not only keep up with me but to out run most normal sized guys. Thompson looks like a big guy next to all the other runners. It's amazing to see a big guy run that fast. We were told and believed that size matters when you are a runner. Big guys usually don't do well in running sports. I'm reminded of Bo Jackson. Not only was his finishing times amazing. It was amazing just to see such a big guy shoot out of the blocks the way he did and to build on that speed through out the race. Drugs or no drugs.

Can you define for us exactly what makes a winner? - first to reach the line? computer/camera - which line? where in, or on which side of the line? - which is it country, venue, IOC, or International rule? - why do we never see track line and chest line simultaneously? - Ottey and Deevers, ShaCarrie and ET-H , Lyes and Thompson, see a pattern here? Now coach, make yourself indispensable, what are the rules, make us believe Lyles, in reality won that race legally.

"Unofficially the world fastest" no Kishane is actually the official fastest man in the world of 2024. The fact that the media appoint the Olympic or WC 100m winner with this unofficial title doesnt matter. The official title is Olympic Champion and World Champion. Also calling anyone other than Kishane the fastest man of 2024 is just factually wrong. This takes absolutely nothing away from Noah. He was the fastest on the biggest stage when it mattered most. But he wasnt the worlds fastest man of that year.

sorry good try but outdoors doesnt translate to indoors he wouldve problably been at 6.5 indoors, alot more to consider than just wind
@AthleticsEditz11 сағат бұрын
@@ronester1 Wrong; a lot of athletes whilst peaked run the same 60m splits roughly indoors as they do outdoors (whilst peaked). Lyles is a very good example of this (6.43 indoor 60m PB, 6.43 best 0-60m split outdoors in a 100m race). I guarantee you Kishane would’ve run faster than 6.48 if that race were indoors. The -2.1m/s headwind says it all, idc what you say.
@Someone-hi1nt11 сағат бұрын

@@spider-man1918 Lyles meat-rider spotted in its natural habitat. Yes, Noah - given the best reaction time possible and the PERFECT race in every way - CAN run 9.72/9.73 however I see that very unlikely to happen. He’s been stuck as a low 9.8 guy for YEARS and is only improving his PB by a couple of 0.01s each year (still impressive, though). He can’t seem to get CLOSE to a 6.40 0-60m split (6.43 being his best) and he’s limited to about a 3.35-ish 60-100m. So that’s a 9.75 at BEST. You need to be realistic, mate.
@Someone-hi1nt11 сағат бұрын
i could maybe see a 6.39 + 3.34 or so for lyles in the best possible conditions, but even thats pushing it... we haven't seen that much of kishane in championship environments but its very clear that if he stays healthy, he'll be in low 9.7 if not 9.6 shape later in the season
@AthleticsEditz11 сағат бұрын
@@Someone-hi1nt I think 6.39+3.34 is pushing it to its limits. Lyles hasn’t even split 6.42 yet let alone 6.40 or less. He has split 3.35-ish before and Total Running Productions said he split 3.34 in the London Diamond League but idk about that. No chance of 9.6 though.
@Someone-hi1nt11 сағат бұрын
@AthleticsEditz i agree, thats why i said that even that was pushing it, but the only reason i think he has a remote chance at a 6.39 split is because he split 6.44 with a 0.178 reaction time in paris... again, dont think its likely but its possible
@AthleticsEditz10 сағат бұрын
@@Someone-hi1nt Yeah that 9.79 was a 9.75-ish with a standard reaction time and that’s probably the only part of the race he ‘messed up’ in Paris (same with Kishane, although he didn’t run the rest of his race well on top of that). I think Lyles possibly has a couple of 0.01’s in him realistically because the chances of having his perfect race in every way is quite low but at the end of the day we don’t know what’s going to happen and can only speculate lol.
