6 degrees of Sally Field. Alejandro Rey co-starred in The Flying Nun with her; John Davidson starred with her in the girl with something extra.

If you pay close attention, Johnny Olsen is between the studio audience and the "He Said She Said" set

Haven't heard of this show before and this episode was a year before I was born. Used to watch John Davidson on That's Incredible so I know who he is :) and of course I know who Sally Field is.

I remember this show that was one of three Goodson-Todman shows to debut in syndication in 1969. The others were revivals of Beat the Clock and To Tell the Truth. He Said She Said was the only one of the three that didn't last beyond one season. But the show would return in 1974 under the title Tattletales with Bert Convy hosting. Joe Garagiola did an outstanding job hosting his first game show. He brought humor to the show.

Never saw this first-run. Wasn't even aware the program existed until years later. It did air locally at 10:30 AM but we usually watched Phil Donahue.

The precursor of "Tattletales" (there were no lawsuits concerning stealing formats as both shows were from Goodson-Todman).

Is this where the game show Tattletales originated?

Indeed! In fact Bil Dwyer pointed out that when Tattletales was featured on GSN's 50 Greatest Game Shows countdown with an episode of the latter featured.

Joe and Michael Strahan are similar in television career choices between daytime talk shows, professional sports coverage, and game show hosting except that Joe Garagiola had to go to the ballparks for color commentary rather than sitting in a studio at 30 Rock.

I remember when former "Wonderama and Just For Fun"host..the late Sonny Fox and his wife(at the time)Gloria were on "He Said/She Said". BTW Do you have any videos of Sonny and Gloria appearing on that show?

John Davidson on a game show in the 70's? SAY IT WITH ME FOLKS. THAT'S NOT SO INCREDIBLE!

Actually, this show originally aired in the 1969-1960 season.

Ummm...sure looks a LOT like TATTLETALES.....but Joe Garagiola sure as hell doesn’t look like Bert Convy...

Joe had a very handsome face but I think Bert was better on Tattle Tales as far as how he framed the questions in general and his quick wit. Usually when somebody makes fun of somebody else's appearance it's because of their own insecurities.

Do you happen to have the episode with Jean-Pierre Aumont and Marisa Pavan dated 27 March 1970 from He Said, She Said?

Just asking here ... Does anyone happen to have the one where David Susskind's wife revealed that his pet name for her was "Love-Face"? After that reveal, a blushing Susskind said to Joe Garagiola, "This is a revealing bugger, this show ...".

At least it was a forerunner for Tattletales.

This show, ugh. The two word "clues" are too easy. And people laughing about Alejandro and his child labor story. Joe didn't seem to get it. Sad.

Kevin McClaran well if anything, it gave ole joe his game show start, unles I’m mistaken, well, let’s just say, more exposure. There’s sale of the century, then break the bank and strike it rich.

This is when the viewing audience had wholesomeness and the prizes were handed out to a ,man and a woman whom were living together as husband and wife ."married couple" you know, and the questions weren't as sexual,or to revealing. I'm guessing on that one, cause this is the second episode I've ever seen. You just wouldn't be allowed to define marriage that away toaday.😧

It's weird they thought Joe Garagiola would be a good game show host in the 70s. He definitely has an everyman quality, and he has that "I'm just glad to be here!" kind of persona. However he is no Gene Rayburn or Burt Convy as far as game show hosts go, that's for sure.
@Bigbadwhitecracker6 жыл бұрын
He's a better panelist like on TTTT. How they ever thought he was a good replacement for Garry Moore is beyond me, especially when Bill Cullen was sitting there on that same panel. No, the pacing was so off on this show and that's a host issue. He couldn't move Sally along.
