When you said "what would a child understand about you shaving their head" I teared up thinking about my experiences. I was speaking with my friend about corporal punishment and how it can be done as long you don't use excessive force AND genuinely explain what your kid did wrong. Like maybe hitting their hand and then tell them not to touch it because that's bad. I recently confronted my mom about how she would choke me and throw me around and saying how that was abuse but she called it discipline and that I did something wrong. She never explained what I would do wrong only "Do you know what you did" I say no "then get tf out of my face". I was genuinely confused I didn't understand what I did that was so wrong I didn't curse at her didn't call her out of her name so idk why she felt that was the most appropriate response. I'm scared to have children because I can't imagine accidentally putting the same trauma into a mini me.

Uhm.... HELLO !!!! I guess some one missed the memo (I'm talking about the father in the video). He shouldn't have given her the phone in the first place. Since she had the phone, he should've taken the phone away and that's a normal punishment. The fact he tortured his daughter for the rest of her life is sick.

If my husband did this to my child, Lord help me. He will most definitely hear it and feel it. No one is going to make my child insecure and feel inferior.

This humiliation not discipline. I’m so tired of toxic behavior being promoted. We have to do better than this. This will be the same parents wondering why she is in an abusive relationship never taking into the account that their toxic behavior is the reason for it.

Parents do not compare your children unless you want them to hate each other later in life THATS NOT THE MOVE

People always say "dads need to be in their daughters lives" but it won't matter if the dad is trash! A parent has to be good in order to raise their child well. It's never been about one or two parent homes, it's about who's IN the home.

I come from a strict BLK house hold, father, mother and even grandparents. Never did they put their hands on me, raised their voice at me bc of something as small as this. As I child I was taught that my hair was my crown, I'm supposed to wear it with confidence. What he did to her devoured her future self-esteem, humiliated his own daughter who is now traumatized.🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️

Bruhhh this is terrible!!! Straight to the nursing home he'll be going. This is the type of stuff that makes kids hate their parents for life. Absolutely disgusting. Where is her mother? He's a grown black man with a daughter he should MORE THAN UNDERSTAND what hair means to females, especially a little girl.. she's your daughter FFS! That poor baby probably feels so shattered. This was so uncalled for.

I would be extremely vengeful if my head was shaved. I just reached 2 feet of hair and for it to be gone like that, don't be surprised if I cut yours or spike what you eat. All they're going to get is a vile child with vile behavior. Granted, I highly value my hair. It is very important to me, and to others, they wouldn't care, but it is one of my greatest prides of joy. If my hair is gone, I'm taking you out with it.

I started tearing up watching the video and reading the comments. If like the video is kind of relatable majority of black women, because I feel us as black women have at least one parent who just degrades you just because you don't meet the "standards" of a black woman. And when we distance ourselves from the world, sometime is wrong. For example: My mum always told me to tuck in my stomach and it came to a point where I got really insecure. I always where my jacket, even if it's really hot and when my mum noticed she said don't like what you're wearing and forced me to remove my jacket. And I got really stiff and never asked me why, she just got upset that I always wear my jacket. Or once my mum said to me, I've never seen a girl who doesn't like washing the dishes. It's horrible but I feel like the Millennials , Gen Z and any other generation after will actually raise kids properly.

She should no longer be in his custody. Mental and emotional abuse can be just as damaging sometimes. This is truly heartbreaking. I can only image what school is like for her as well now.

The are not only damaging their reputation, they are emotionally and physically taking away their prized possession which is their crown, without it it creates a embarrassment that they never thought would happen. And it shows how a child can lose respect and trust from a parent who does not respect their personal things. It also includes them posting them on the internet, for what? It shows how irresponsible a parent can be and the petty things they do. I can’t Imagine what things are like behind closed doors including the other siblings she has
