Почему почему почему? Это сложный язык. I’m dying too but I’m loving it.

@@Via-Media2024 I would agree with that. Russian is definitely one of the hardest languages for a native English speaker, however it’s still an indo-European language so it isn’t completely foreign. I’d still say Arabic and Japanese take the cake with that.

The word “it” was so hard for me to translate when I first learned French due to the fact that in English, “it” is always neuter and in French it is always the equivalent of “he” and “she”. In Russian objects can be “he” “she” or “it” 😂 But now it’s ok because I at least understand the concept. Спасибо за это видео 🇷🇺🇺🇸

As someone who speaks spanish, I understood the last part pretty well because we use "el," which is him, and "la," which is her. These are used to describe objects.

well, they use gendered pronouns for objects in Spanish too!

there's also -ь words which can be masc or fem: ночь, дочь, мышь, дверь, кость... night, daughter, mouse, door, bone; all feminine words (most of the time the rules apply tho)

Do you have a problem with the concept of gendered nouns? I did for a long time after learning other languages. After a time I came to the belief that it has more to do with the sounds of words rather than their meanings. So in Russian, if the word ends in an А или Я sound, then it is feminine, О или Е are neuter, and consonants are masculine. There are certain exceptions to the patterns, but they don’t disprove the rule. As an English speaker you have to just roll with it when learning other languages. 😂
