I loved Jack Wild as The Artful Dodger in Oliver!

I loved him in H R Pufnstuf. Even though the show only had 17 episodes, people remembered it because of his talent and presence. The opening and closing themes were actually my favorite part of the show. I think he wanted to make amends for some of his choices, but it was too late and he died young. Rest in peace, Jack.

Artful dodger showed off Jack Wild's great talent a proper little actor worth his weight in gold, a treasure to the entertainment industry, life is generally full of hard knocks, he had a taste of the good life, I wonder if he had to do it again whether he would have side stepped the fame for an ordinary life, it's a sad story for him and his relationships.

Jack Wild was a one off. A very very underrated actor with enormous potential. He put Lester in the shade. Sadly he just didnt have the luck when the offers dried up and he found himself with nothing to do. He was already a chain smoking alcoholic which then really took hold of him... and he didnt have anyone in the industry to help him and keep him grounded. What a waste. He could have gone on to much greater things. By all accounts a thoroughly lovely man. The Jack Wild saga is an absolute tragedy.

While I liked Jack as the Artful Dodger, I preferred him as Ornshaw, in "Melody". This was a fun movie and the three 'kids' worked well together, as they also did with the older actors. I always wanted to be an actor myself and now am, albeit just as an amateur. But my parents were very old fashioned and didn't want me to 'waste my life, mucking about on stage!' But I was never as good or natural as Jack, Mark and Tracey. I haven't watched Melody (or Oliver!) for years now, although for a while around the time of it's making, it was one of my favourite movies! RIP Jack, you were a good'un! 😐

Mark Lester was totally unconvincing in this role. He looked about 8 years old, his facial expressions never changed......Jack Wild was the star. Lester never could act, Wild was a born actor.

T me, it was Wilds iconic performance in Oliver as t why it became a masterpiece as his interaction with equally versatile/talented Moodys Scrooge perfectly captured the essence of the poor Victorian era

Jack Wild was so much like me. But for him a super cool person helped them get a start. Me... I'm just a drunk. At 59 I am hoping that maybe I'll get something done and into the world before I die. Looks loke like he was always a pretty sweet person. Me too. The main thing is this. Jack actually got some stuff out into the world. Those three albums! I am excited now to check those out! 🌞
