Hello from the USA. I second on hydroponics producing vegetables with the Wastewater from the fish run through a sediment filter and then into the vegetable beds. I also agree on duckweed which has one of the highest proteins for vegetation, I would also look into black soldier fly larvae as a alternate feed. Cool video.

He should start to grow Black Soldier Fly Larva to feed his fish. It can eventually reduce his feeding cost to zero. You can find Black Soldier Fly larva in most established compost piles. I wish you all the Best!

fish waste is incredibly nutrient dense, dumping it out is a waste when you can use it to grow plants. Whether it's vegetables or even food for your fish, most things can be grown using it.

Bro haven been in this biz for long I had expected you to be producing your feed, that will reduce cost of production and more profit for you. It’s not rocket science just go and source the material and compound the feed yourself. To be frank I was disappointed when I heard you call out this brand “Copen” and other brands that produce fish feed. Imagine how much you will save when you produce this feed yourself.
@richiesmalls34416 ай бұрын
Why walk when you can crawl? Do you think it's easy for one man to manage such a large number of fishes? You expect him to leave the fishery to out sourcing for raw materials so that you won't be disappointed in him. Free the guy joor

If you understand my comment I was only looking out for a brother. I’ve done cat fish rearing business and poultry business. Bulk of the money goes to feed, that’s where economics and accounting comes in how do you maximise profit ? By reducing cost of production. If you have watched this video, this man has been in this business over a decade. How can he still rely on buying feed at this stage of farming. I maintain my stand feed production is not rocket science. You just need pay someone to guide you or better still source for the formula online. It’s just knowing the percentage of protein, carbohydrates “, vitamins etc. then source of protein, and other minerals. Compound this feed and dry and use pelleting machine to get to the tolerable size for the fish. If he adopts this, you will see how much he will save in buying feeds.

No, he should not be trying to figure out how to do aquaponics, grow feed, duckweed over whatever in the comment section - you guys don't appreciate what he done so far and a common tactic is to try to add on extra and raise the bar so he cannot satisfy you guys. The way it works is he focus on his fish farm, someone else focus on fish feed and they work at a market-based village so everybody is good at what they do and very efficient with specialization.

You can get around food cost if you grow or produce food the fish can eat and you can feed it directly or make it into pellet food. Fish pellets usually contain wheat to bind it together which is not the easiest thing for fish to process and is not very healthy. Generally greens are good to feed to fish so peas, lettuce, cucumber and spinach are the best vegetables to grow. Garlic is also good because it helps with internal worms that the fish can get. You can also use boiled egg yolk and mosquito larae to feed fish fry. You can also use the egg white to feed the fish however you cannot leave it in the water and for some fish it is an aquired taste. Garden worms are one of the best things you can feed fish and the way I collect them is by draining dirty aquarium water onto bricks that are on the ground so worms gather under them daily and I put the biggest ones into a worm farm to breed smaller ones and I feed the worm farm with the same food grown for the fish. Duck weed is also a great food for fish if there is anywhere local like a pond where is grows out of control. It can be a free and infinite source of food as long as you only put in enough that the fish eat and it doesn't start to grow out of control in your pond or aquarium. If you get creative there are many ways to get around buying fish pellets and the food is better for the fish.
