To kill bacteria add 3% food grade hydrogen peroxide of about 10 table spoon to 10 liters of water, shake well and use it to spray soil and around the vegetables in the farm. It kills the bacteria but does not harm snail.

Producing snail feed involves creating a balanced and nutritious diet that meets the dietary needs of snails. Below is a step-by-step guide: 1. Understand the Nutritional Needs of Snails Snails need a diet rich in: Calcium: Essential for shell growth (e.g., limestone powder, crushed eggshells, bone meal). Protein: For growth and reproduction (e.g., soybeans, fish meal, groundnut cake). Carbohydrates: For energy (e.g., maize, cassava, yam peels). Vitamins and Minerals: To maintain overall health (e.g., vegetables, fruits). 2. Ingredients for Snail Feed Plant-based materials: Pawpaw leaves, lettuce, cabbage, cocoyam leaves, spinach. Grains and cereals: Maize, sorghum, wheat bran. Protein sources: Groundnut cake, soybean meal, fish meal, blood meal. Calcium sources: Crushed oyster shells, limestone powder, snail shells, bone meal. Supplements: Salt (minimal quantity), vitamins, and mineral premix. 3. Preparing the Feed A. Dry Feed (Pelleted or Powdered) 1. Grind the ingredients: Grind grains, leaves, and calcium sources into fine powder. 2. Mix thoroughly: Combine the ingredients in the right proportions: 30% plant-based materials 25% grains/cereals 20% protein sources 20% calcium 5% vitamin/mineral premix 3. Pelletize (optional): Use a pelletizing machine to form pellets if desired. Pellets are easier for snails to consume and reduce waste. 4. Dry and store: Dry the feed in the sun or a dryer to prevent spoilage, then store in an airtight container. B. Fresh Feed 1. Harvest fresh leaves and vegetables: Use pesticide-free plants like pawpaw leaves, lettuce, and spinach. 2. Chop into smaller pieces: Make it easier for snails to consume. 3. Combine with calcium sources: Sprinkle crushed eggshells or bone meal on fresh leaves. 4. Feeding the Snails Provide feed in the evening when snails are most active. Avoid overfeeding to prevent spoilage and odor. Always provide clean water alongside the feed. 5. Storage Dry feed should be stored in a cool, dry place to prevent mold. Fresh feed should be prepared daily to ensure freshness and quality. Tips Monitor snail growth and adjust the feed composition if necessary. Avoid using salty, spicy, or toxic plants as they can harm snails.

I commend her drive and knowledge in her business. She knows what she's talking about. She also discourages you from using tyres because they are hazardous rubber materials that contain a range of toxic chemicals, including polyaromatic hydrocarbons, benzothiazoles, isoprene, and heavy metals like zinc and lead. Use natural materials when farming animals.
