He is prepping for the rogue invitational in 28 october and the first event is deadlift off 20" height for reps. The weight is not decided yet but it's between 900-1000 lbs. So he's looking good here to pull off a win or top 3 in this event.
@markuschampos57502 жыл бұрын
Well, not really. This isn't very good actually. The world record is almost 100 kg more and Novikov will do 13-14 reps with this weight.
@awwwshucks4432 жыл бұрын
he wasn't gassed at all, doesn't look like he wore a suit either. there are a few monster pullers especially at elevated heights, but Martins doesn't need to win to the event. Top four on this one would probably be enough.
@markuschampos57502 жыл бұрын
@@awwwshucks443 You never worn a lifting suit. A suit will not help at all at raised deadlifts because the lifter will not bend down far enough to get any form of springhelp from the suit. The same reason why suit helps little or nothing in sumostyle, they also doesnt bend down as much. Look at the angle were the leg meets the hip, they are no were near even 90°. The best sumolifters are 20-30° over 90° (with 90° I mean the thigh is horizontal with the floor and 90° with the upper body) (I competed in powerlifting for 13 years and have used suits for around 15 years, know exactly how they work and feels)
@MsStevo20002 жыл бұрын
@@markuschampos5750 I highly doubt he will get anywhere close to that many reps. he does benefit from higher lifts due to having long arms but his brute strength might not be as high as martins. That being said he broke the record that JC Caron held on the hummer tire deadlift at the Shaw Classic so I should not be underestimating him.
@markuschampos57502 жыл бұрын
@@MsStevo2000 It is depending on other things, not brute strength. Novikov are shorter then Martins so high deadlifts suits him enourmous more then for Martins. Novikov is above the sticking point and Martins are somewhat at the stickingpoint. Look were the bar are at according to their knees and you will instantly understand what I mean. Also, Novikov are a member of the 1000 pound club, 455 kg deadlift, Martins are not. Don't get me wrong here, Martins is my favourite strongman, him and Thor, but honestly is the way to go.

What’s the stoltman fiasco?
@Dad_Lyon2 жыл бұрын
The audio of the Stoltmans stating that Colin Brice basically gives advantages (e.g. event selection and groups) to certain competitors if they play ball with WSM. It also talked about retainers and stuff, which seems legitimate. A lot of WSM fans attacked me for wanting an investigation into rigging and the only constructive, antagonistic comment I received was that Strongman isn't a sport, it's just entertainment. It really killed me that most fans didn't seem to care about fairness. Sorry for the long winded rant.
