@@kamegoshin8954 Good question. He was tricked in my eyes, as he very sincerely wanted to introduce 2 ladies to the wonderful game of chess. We can have a long talk whether or not it was 'ok' for him to 'simply' assume the both could not play, but then we 1) enter into the fair assumptions based on probability from experience one always makes to assess a situation and 2) based on their very hesitant responses resulting on his heartily invite. The moment they kept quiet on his first basic introduction/questions, the 'trick'/ 'lie' started. Also keeping quiet can be a lie/trick. And in this case certainly. He is such a good teacher and coach. He sets a scene and explains the concept in context of a literal battlefield. Every chess player should be coached by this type of person.

This guy's enthusiasm is great, he said everything I already knew but I still feel like I learned a lot hearing it.

It would be really cool to see a part 2 where Pia explains things to him as well.

This guy is an incredible teacher. I'm a boxing coach, and this is the same kind of energy I try to use. You have to make the thing you're trying to teach exciting and relatable to what you know. I use an absurd amount of analogies. I went into this thinking it was going to be one of those dumb youtube prank videos that makes someone look like an idiot, but I really love what this guy is doing.

This video was so joyful. Him not knowing who he was talking to (but not negatively) and her dominating and then being so gracious....and the topping was him genuinely wanting to play her again.

I love that man narrating the plays and getting all immersed in it. He has a heart of a child when it comes to this game and it's amazing. Some people may look at him weirdly, but honestly it's just because everyone else is too afraid to be compassionate about something they enjoy. Good for him. I hope he learned from the mother

It takes great skill to get a GM to sit through an entire Introductory Chess lesson. What an interesting guy, he has the old man's wisdom and also the enthusiasm of a kid. Definitely someone you'd like to hang out with.
