When I was in NYC I went to a park and a chess hustler called me a cheater. It all got quickly resolved and he was super nice - visit him if you're ever in Washington Square Park! His name is Nahshon. :)

He realized he lost after the queen swap and she moved her bishop. You can hear it when he says "that's true" and his voice for the first time sounds more serious. A good game regardless and if he wouldn't have swapped rooks he could've had a better position. She knew this too which is why she was giddy when he did it. A blitz game often forces unnecessary swaps (both of them).

at high levels of competition a little trash talk can be enough to break your opponents composure and secure the w. also if anyone is trash talking you take it as a compliment because a proper competitor wouldn't typically trash talk a beginner bc they know they can win without it and why discourage ppl from playing i mean I also have seen ppl who are really good at something not know when to stop trash talking nonetheless but yeah

I swear, banter helps you while playing many times, keeps the neurons firing at a high speed, maybe? You gauge your opponent. She told him she was coming for that pawn he defended it. She may have been trying to divert him from the real play on the bishop or expected him to him to really come at her different. It was a great match to watch regardless.

That was great. I just found your channel today, subbed and watching your content. Very cool. I played chess as a kid and loved it. Wish I would have stayed with it, but when I grew up, no options except playing with someone. No computer programs and so on. When I was in grade school (5th grade in US), I started playing with a friend older than me who taught me. After a bit, I got obsessed with playing. I remember the first time I figure out how deep you can get into the game. No shot clock back then, a game went on till there was a winner. I remember the day I was dropped off at Tony's. It was 10 am. We played three games back to back. It was summer and the sun was up till almost 9pm. When she picked me up at 8, I had no idea how much time had gone by. It seemed like maybe a half hour. I loved it. I was in a very small town, and Tony, and a few other older (a lot older) played but didn't like getting beat by a kid. I didn't win all of the time, and some of them I couldn't beat at all, but teenage boys would rather not play than get embarrassed. So I had no one to play with and playing against yourself just didn't work for me. Love to get back into it, but unfortunately my cancer puts me on a short timer. Ha. I think I may buy a program and start over but I doubt I'll have the same ability to see so many moves ahead. That's the beauty of the game. Keep it up. I doubt you'll get to read this with so many subs, but keep it up sis. Great content and you're such a lovely person to those you play

Hahahahahaha that was awesome! He called you out as a cheater thinking you were Dina, then regretted it. Reminds me of the line in Troy where Achilles says "And everyone will know that this is Hector, the fool who THOUGHT he killed Achilles" 😆😆😆😆😆

His was banter. Hers was painful. All she does is state the obvious and narrate her actions non-stop. It's hard to believe someone so sharp could simultaneously be so dull.
