Obviously the proof is when you look up all the photos of him over the decades playing chess in the park he never changes age...and is almost always wearing the same outfit.

Johnny himself said that the social aspect was his favorite part of playing chess, and prolonging the game helped him to chat with her longer and get the 'fruit for the soul', as he said. She definitely made the right choice going a little bit easy, best move for all parties involved.

We were no grandmasters, but I remember a guy I used to play with in college. We weren't friends outside of the game, but we played nearly every day over breakfast before class. He was far better than I was and enjoyed teaching me and watching me learn and grow as a player. I'll never forget the first - and only - time I managed to beat him. He was so pleased. I never saw him again after that semester, but I'll never forget him. Great times.

Johnny's the best. Nobody could love chess more than he. He really knows the game, and gets massive enjoyment, win or lose. What more can you ask for in an opponent? This was a fun watch.
