He is a car dealer and his role is to be charming. And he was. I enjoyed my chat with him. He was polite and friendly. Very welcoming. He also had his tactics on full display such as talking the entire time to try and prevent me from thinking too much and just accepting whatever came out of his mouth. But that didn't bother me at all, it was fun to watch as I was prepared and aware of it the entire time. I watched every single thing he did, and tested a few things to see how he would react. Again, I like the guy. He just has a business model that requires him to buy cars at very, very low prices.

Yep, that works all the time, put it $2K under the cheapest bid and it will sell in a Day or a Week or in a Month. Keep your car on Carsales for a year and maybe somebody will buy it, or just maybe, just maybe you will reduce your price under to what Jerry will pay for it and it will sell.

If you have a problematic car it is easier to quickly off-load to a dealer without rwc. Cut your losses, take the low-ball offer and run. Did that to my Citroen. I do not want to create enemies so I didn't even bother selling to friends, relatives, or workmates

Mine is over 100k and they have guaranteed it with a warranty for two years with an OEM warranty and done a full thorough inspection of the vehicle. Go look up Mercedes Certified and you'll see for yourself. I've already had three warranty things fixed with absolutely no fuss from them.

The core business model is to simply deal with the dealerships so the car buyer doesn't have to. If I can save them some money in the process, I'll do my best, but it's not a promise in the deal. My proposition actually isn't about getting a better deal - it's about taking the entire process of buying / trading-in a car off someone's hands because they don't like dealing with car dealerships. Me being in that video is a perfect example of what many don't want to deal with. BTW, I have nothing against Jerry - I liked him. And that's my point - I enjoy people like Jerry and get on with them. So I'm happy to negotiate and do a deal on behalf of someone who doesn't like doing it. That's my value proposition. If I happen to get a competitive price, that is a by product of my value proposition. In terms of trust - you raise a really good point. That's why I am going to stream what I do live. So it's transparent and people can judge for themselves. You are right I have to earn the trust, which I will do. Trust is everything - without trust you've got nothing. It would make more sense if you told us you take 1k for helping sell the car on the clients behalf to different dealerships to save the hassle. Are you a mechanic? Can you get wholesale prices? Do you have some clever negotiation tactics to allow you to get a better price? No? Then where is your value proposition. Why would there be a hassle in buying a car from the dealer. If the car checks out and is a good price compared to the car sales. Give a price yes or no, it’s done. If the car has issues, there’s scratches, there’s mechanical problems, instead of dealing directly with the dealer, I have to deal with you and potentially spend more time deciding what’s going on when I could have just spoken to the dealer directly. So who’s your target market? People with too much money and not enough brains? Those people exist but they’re not looking for used cars. But hey give me 1k and I’ll break it down for you.
