from the way I heard it, when you're addicted to drugs it's pretty difficult to stop. my uncle used to drink but a couple years ago he relapsed and when my grandma tried to tell me, but I didn't want to know, and my uncle heard about that and went to rehab cuz of that, and he has stopped drinking now. sorry about the story, but my point is some people want to stop but can't without help. like how my uncle tried to stop only after I didn't want.... couldn't hear how he was hurting himself. that ep hit way to close to home.

I think you’re half right with your drug addiction thoughts. Yes somebody chooses to take drugs (most of the time) and for that they have to take responsibility. But once you become addicted, whilst you technically still have the choice not to take it, it isn’t that simple. Your body begins to crave it. You can essentially become dependent on the drug. It becomes less of a want and more of a need. Your body tells you that you need the drug. Lots of people don’t take their first drug with the goal in mind of feeling better. It’s often peer pressure/or overall belief it’s cool and fun. Then for those who take it to numb their pain, it’s because they’ve already taken it and ‘know’ it works at numbing their pain. They’re then left with their body craving this drug and the knowledge that it can take away their pain, making it a far easier decision to take more. It’s a bitter cycle and I wish drug addiction was less of a taboo because I think it hampers people from getting the help they need to stop it. Often times people feel isolated and lose themselves to drugs as an escapism, which essentially further ostracises them from society. Their choice then becomes either: - tell somebody you have a drug problem and need help despite all the taboos and general distaste the wider populace has for drug addicts - or, make the easier choice of taking more drugs to further ease their pain. Although to be fair, some people do just take drugs because they like taking them and don’t particularly want any help.

I’m starting to think that Don just doesn’t like women lol, first he criticizes the mom of Oliver’s son for not wanting his lifestyle to influence her child’s life, but then says Joe’s right for not wanting his wife’s lifestyle to influence his child’s life, so, what’s the point? Not only that, but even though Iris is not the most charismatic character (and gets only worse from here onwards), Don always searches for a way to criticize her, like saying she didn’t have a rough childhood (thinking your mom was dead for 20 years when she just chose to left is clearly a rough backstory). I mean, the only possible explanation for this is that he clearly tries to find a way to look down on women and praise whatever men do on these shows

Regarding Oliver and the child and the mother... First, I really think you should pause Flash or do 2 arrows for each flash episode in order to catch up to the timeline, but Second, you gotta remember who Oliver was as a person... This will be explored further but even with the information you already have by watching season 1 and some season 2 of arrow you know that Oliver was an ass, a playboy, cheating left and right and actually probably in an out of jail or at least troubles with the law that he got out only with daddy's money... he was 100% bad for a kid if you look at it objectively... of course, this isn't the whole story, but let's say that it isn't crazy to believe that the mother have actually good reasons to think that way about Oliver and the prospects of him as a father... Look at how he behaved with Laurel, and he claims he loved her back then
