@49525Bob3 күн бұрын
The first story is similar to what I experienced on my first visit to my future Ex-Filipina wife. She was allowed to be with me without a family member present during the day. By sunset she was required to be home. Six months later I met her and her mom at the Manila airport. Seperate hotel rooms for two nights. The purpose of that trip was to go to the U.S. embassy for her visa. After that the three of us flew back to Butuan, then a van for an hour to her home. She'd arranged for a hotel for me in the nearest small town. Since I'd proven commitment, her parents allowed her to stay with me. If her parents intent on that first trip was to protect her chasity, they missed it by a couple years, but at least she had no kids. PS. She was MUCH younger than me. Probably a record in the age gap you talk about.

Story three, reminded me of my last trip to Northern Thailand. I'd gone to meat a 32 year old Thai girl who had a young daughter. We stayed together 3 weeks. By the end of my trip I decided to get her a visa. She had an identical twin sister who made it very plan to me that she too was available. The real shocker to me was that her parents approved. I can only assume they were just looking for a support sucker. By the way, as I said they were identical twins. The only differnece I could find was one had a C-section scar, while the other didn't. While I was not new to Thai strange, having lived in Bangkok for three years while in the army, this was a little above my comfort level, but it was a fun 3 weeks. I did not finish that visa process.

When listening to stories of LDR's I feel lucky that my Pilipna and I were True and honest from the start even tho her sisters and her friends tried to discourage her as my family and friends did the same to me ....Luckily we both didn't listen to them and we followed our heart and now on our 10th year together .I know I took a crazy chance as did she and I do not recommend anyone doing as we did because the risk now would probably not turn out like our story . I'm a Filipina came from a traditional family. I'm 25 years old when I met my bf online. Corey, a sender of the first story should know that its not her brother but her lover and they're trying to use him so they can enjoy the vacation with his money. As for the second story, there are a lot of good filipinas out there, you just unfortunately found a bad one. You should know your worth and don't try to win back a girl that once cheated on you. She will likely do it again and be more cautious about it next time. Hi Pea, I appreciate that you showed the picture of our former President for the "Mano po" 😊

When you date a woman you date the entire family once you meet the kids. Although it is different, when I was both the CEO and program director for a nonprofit youth corporation I had so many kids who wanted me to date their divorced Moms. They would even ask their Moms to meet me. What was even weirder is these kids knew I had a gf. It was in Key West(you should have visited there in Florida) and what was even more awkward was everyone knows everyone and I had to tell my gf every time. Why? She was a pediatric nurse and most of these same Moms brought their kids to see the Pediatrician where she worked. What a tangled web we weave.

Not necessarily, but possible. If she is from the province, I'd say 50-50, if she is from a big city, then bf/husband is more likely. When I met my first Filipina gf, things were similar. We could do stuff together the two of us, but only in public in daytime. No possibilities of anything naughty. At night someone from her family was a chaperone. Until we became engaged a year later and everything changed like magic. So it wasn't so much chastity as they wanted to make sure I was serious and wouldn't leave her with a big belly to take care of herself. (Then the whole thing took another turn, but that's another story).

Our own precious Pea hits another home run! I loved the Forest Gump references. Not only do you speak flawless English, but you also speak our culture in the USA! It makes your content so much more relatable. WOW! Did you ever find some dark unicorns in this episode!! I was gobsmacked when you suggested that Julia's "brother" might be her husband, but it made perfect sense! We all love you, Pea. Thank you for engaging and providing a safe bridge between East and West. It appears that renowned writer Rudyard Kipling may have to stand corrected when he wrote "Oh, East is East and West is West, and never the twain shall meet". Perhaps a modification is called for : "Oh, East is East and West is West, and if ever the twain shall meet, expect to find a Pea at the meeting". Pea, I hope you never underestimate your worth. You began as a humble province girl, and for thousands, you have become an icon, a guiding light, Ate of the Islands for so many Western men. Sometimes, I will muddle through other vlogs about the Philippines, and there is NO COMPARISON, not in your English, your wit, your en pointe experience, and wisdom. I tend to get wordy and must constrain myself otherwise I will begin gushing. Thank you.

Hey Pea, thanks for your videos! I never had intention to try and date a Filipina, but I haven't participated in the dating market for about 6 years now, and randomly decided to try a new dating app since I don't meet many women out and about where I live. Shortly after, I was messaged by a Filipina, she started the conversation talking about a shared interest from my bio, and we have REALLY hit it off over the last several days, talking like good friends, a spark and connection I almost never have with anyone I've ever met. And now I'm thinking about leaving my country for the first time ever, at some point in the future. Your videos are giving me some insight into an unfamiliar culture that I really appreciate! So far, not a single red flag, only good signs. And I'm not an old guy, yet, so the age gape between us isn't nearly as big as seems to be common, I hope that's also a good sign. Anyways, I'm doing my research to learn as much as I can about her and her culture, and trying to be as wary as possible without being off putting, and keeping up with your videos is definitely a big part! So, thank you again for all the information you have shared!

This is MARK from "THE VILLAGE THAT SANTA FORGOT" FAME.. :) I wanted to help you assist NANA, and I did receive your message that she has passed away. The reason I showed more than average interest in NANA is this: a year before my father passed away, I mentioned that I was going to take a vacation in the PHILIPPINES, he had the most unusual reaction; he told me about his experiences fighting in the Philippines during WORLD WAR II and asked me to find a FILIPINO SOLDIER to tell him that it was HIS HONOR to fight alongside them. I didn't end up in the Philippines until 2014, a twenty-years after my father's passing, but when I heard NaNa's story of the video THE VILLAGE THAT SANTA FORGOT, it reminded me of his wish. Although Nana was not a soldier, I thought that letting her know my father was happy to help the Filipino people would be just as meaningful, if not more so, than acknowledging a veteran. I assumed I would not find a living Filipino World War II veteran. Anyway, that's why I wanted to meet Nana to tell her in person. Thank you, PEA, love you. just please acknowledge you saw this...

Good story. When I was in the Army and station in San Antonio TX in 2000, there was Filipino women at the hospital working. I was a nurse in the Army and work for a agency at different hospitals in San Antonio TX. I realized how close the Filipino was at the hospital on the floor, so I decided to date one so I could be part of the crew and it worked. I even started going to their church there, the thing was she was separated from her husband and he was always around. We dated for maybe a 1 yrs until got transferred to another state, but she would come out to see me, I then realized she cared about me. After 6 months of long distance relationship, we broke up, but it was a learning experience. There is always a lot of Filipino nurses at all the hospitals and I was the only male on the floors back then. I just couldn’t get over her being married and her husband being in the house just as much as me.

@michaelhaak3298 Michael !! Taiwan is a GREAT place to meet good Filipinas !! I didn’t live there single there long enough to figure this all out, but I heard that there are a couple pubs where Filipinas hang out when they have time off (even though most don’t get enough time off if any). And on the weekends, right outside Taipei main station in the park areas you can meet people-workers-who are from someplace else. If a girl is brave enough and non-snobby enough to go work in Taiwan, that can be a sign that she’s cool. And if you don’t meet the Filipina of your dreams at one of the Filipina bars, you WILL meet a girl or two who can help you meet a cool Filipina who is stuck at a factory bunkhouse in Taichung, or wishing for a guy like you back in the home country. Getting to meet when both people are there for work and not 100% trying to “relationship” seems good. You’re not “on the prowl” or “abroad just to be duped,” and similarly she’s not there to manipulate a foreigner.

Crazy how rational you are to every other female I see on YT or in real life for that matter. Very solid advice, and one thing I noticed when I dated a Filipina 20 years ago was how much influence the mother has on your relationship with the daughter. I thought I had to win the father over. Nope. The mother had 100% of the say. I think with the last story, the mother may have been asking him indirectly, "Hey, do you have any friends I can date?"

WRT Corey, I respect that. I've been on chaperoned dates; it's usually aunts that the woman is close to who also satisfies the tradition. I was raised by women and I have some idea of how you work. When you get together, you look at all the facets of something. So, having a second set of female eyes on a prospect is a good thing. A brother may not mean to be overbearing or a choice by the family to drive you off. He could be who she's closest to, so he's being over-protective. I'm quite comfortable with chaperoned dates. She matters to her family. That already says a lot about how I might get along with them if I make the cut. Absent a chaperone, once I was serious about someone, I made a bee line for the parents. Whatever the dynamic in the family is exactly the dynamic she would re-create between us if we stay together. I was aware of my own dynamic too, which took some growing up. But I looked at how they got along. And if I put my best foot forward, if I showed that I wasn't some smirking douche, they accepted me and all the rest of relationship building was easier because they weren't throwing sand in the gears. If I didn't like what I saw, I bowed out. Well, after learning that the hard way. I was also rejected by a family because I made a crucial mistake and the relationship withered quickly. That took introspection to learn from, too. The bottom line is that if we link our lives, we link our families. It's prudent to get our arms around how all that would work before we get too deeply involved. It's quite pragmatic.

Pea: Sorry for being late to the party, but I made it just as all the mess was being cleaned up. Was out helping a family member all day. The second email reaction was too funny! Love the reference to Forest Gump (one of my all time favorite movies). In a way I can understand how he would get to emotionally tied up with a woman who actually pays some attention to him after dealing with all the lack of it here in the west, but ... just because you are getting attention from a few thousand miles away, doesn't mean she isn't giving attention to someone just a few inches away at the same time. it's hard to aviod seeing the hand in the cookie jar on that one, don't tell me she isn't searching for a new cookie to treat herself with. Keep up the great work my friend.

Great advice, as always. I was very concerned about Colin. My first thought was a husband /girlfriend scam. The document you mentioned was a great idea, maybe a pic of it from your phone. As for Peter… things indeed move very, very fast. I’m just concerned that you might have to move!

@ with literally millions of beautiful, loving and caring Filipinas to choose from, pick the ONE that will cause the most division in the family! As bad ideas go… this is a terrible idea! My uncle ran off with his brothers wife in the 1950’s and my family STILL talks about it! That brothers children are not recognized by the family, and I can’t repeat the things my mother said about the brother..ex-brother who did it!

I had a sort of similar experience when I visited Davao to meet a young woman I met online and chatted to for months before visiting the Philippines. And yes like the first guy you reviewed found her with a close friend who never left her side, haha, obviously to protect her chastity as Pea says. At least I got to know some really nice ladies and effectively dated two for the wekk I spent in davao.
