I think the Max Games logo is present in all versions of the game since it's supposed to be a clickable link that goes to their site. I understand that the speed-running site wants us to play the same version of the game to be fair, but I think the difference between two games is kind of minimal anyway (I could be wrong). In previous versions of the games, pausing while your special is active doesn't completely stop the ability. So for example, after unpausing, the caveman special would just be one straight line of meteors instead of a rain. There's also the final turret in the game, which has a massive range. It doesn't directly shoot the enemy's base, but left-over projectiles do reach it if there's only one enemy unit left on the field. In later versions, the final turret's range is reduced to I believe half the battlefield.

Tip: if you let the enemy go very near to your base and you spam distance units there are more units attacking the enemy then wehen being lined up (doesnt work that well the further the game is because of the higher recruiting time)

You can pause the game and unpause with space to reset cooldowns of many ranged units. I'm not actually sure, but I think it works for archers. Might be the reason you have to play on one site to fix the glitch or smth

if you pause the game right after using your skill and unpause after a second or three, it will drop all of the fireballs/arrows etc at once, making it more likely to hit every enemy on screen

So i did a speedrun on impossible difficulty when i was in class on time and won in the second era.The way i did it was by spawning 2 melee units ("tanks") and a ton of ranged behind them, since they can deal damage when they aren't in front. Worked every time, op af. Edit: And the special ofcourse.
