Fun fact... My friends kept telling me I needed to see this HS player and after refusing to for a while I finally broke. We went to see Creekside vs Stars Mill. A game so big comcast was there to televise it. Young Eric was the QB and Safety for Creekside and HANDS DOWN the best player I've seen with my eyes. I watched em save a broken down play, reverse field a couple of times and then keep it and break about a 80 yard run. The next drive as a safety I saw him fly down from the safety spot and crack a receiver and force a fumble. Dude was IT!!

@@hotgoblin2258 that’s valid. To me they went back and forth as the 2 best safeties of their time when they both in the league. Ed Reed prob edged him off as a better ball hawk (although Troy had way more circus interceptions let’s be honest here lol) but I also really feel that Troy edged him out as a better safety though overall especially when it came to run stopping. The man just had a knack for knowing what the offense was gonna do and jumping the line like few before him have ever done.

As a Gator's fan I remember watching Tebow and Berry on the same field when Florida played Tennessee. It was an amazing sight to see the two best players in the SEC and arguably Division I on opposite sides of the ball. The returning offensive player of the year vs the returning defensive player of the year. Then it happened. Tebow running full speed in Tn secondary territory and a one on one matchup between Tebow and Berry. Tebow lowered his head and so did Eric Berry. Tebow knocked him back but was stopped. The rest is history.

As I Raiders fan, I completely agree. I may hate the Chiefs organization, but I have mad respect for some of their players - guys who have insane talent and are genuinely great people off the field, like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the truly inspirational Eric Berry. I wish those guys nothing but the best, and have always enjoyed seeing my Raiders compete with them. But Tyreek Hill and the Hunt family can fuck off, those pieces of shit.

@@themoeshow1343 Hey, good football is good football, and good people are good people, no matter the uniform or location. Besides that, you have to respect your division rivals, because solid competition improves everyone's play and shows the rest of the league that the AFC West ain't nothin' to sneeze at. Except the Broncos. Nobody respects the Broncos. hahaha Really, though, congrats on the trophy, and best of luck to y'all in the upcoming weeks. Oughta be some good football for us all to enjoy.

I'm a Gator fan and I still remember that collision between him & Tebow in college. He definitely was a superstar in the making. He's been through so much and for him to get back up after continuously being knocked down says alot about his heart & determination. He was a tremendous athlete but an even better human.

Charger fan here. I have nothing but the utmost respect for this man. Even before his cancer diagnosis, he was and is a class act which demands respect from all. His accomplishments on and off the field are not to be disregarded. Dude is an absolute legend, I just wish we could have seen everything he had to offer. (Except the amount of pain he would have caused my Chargers)

Man thanks FlemLo!! This one hits home. I even got a lil emotional at the end. I have followed Eric Berry since he came out of High school in 2007. Dude was legendary at Tennessee. He is second all time in collegiate INT return yards. He even played linebacker and cornerback his Junior year at Tennessee. He had the knack for making the big plays like Tyrann Mathieu and Charles Woodson. He was always around the ball. I wish my Saints would give him a chance, but we have the great Malcolm Jenkins. He had every ability to be a future hall of famer just injuries. But terrific attitude and great guy who comes from a great family. God bless EB and God bless you also brother!
