I met Brady in LA at the team hotel the night before the ND vs USC game; 2 kids approached Brady with their mom for an autograph, 1 kid was wearing an ND jersey and the other kid was wearing a USC jersey, Brady told the mom, "I'm not signing for the USC fan" at that moment Brady became one of my all-time favorite ND players. 😂😂

The last 2 games of 2006-07 vs USC and LSU was a big warning to NFL scouts. Against USC he went 22/45, 274 yards, and 3 TDs. Not exactly the worst ever, but still not great. But he was AWFUL in the Sugar Bowl against LSU's NFL caliber talent. 15/35, 148 yards, with 2 ints. He Played well against decent teams, and rolled bad ones. But whenever he had to perform against defenses with multiple players who would go on to the league, he just crumbled.

I never understood the Browns trading back into the first and taking a QB's at pick 22. If every other team passed on Quinn, Weeden, Manziel (All reaches) at that point in the round why not just wait til round 2 and save the picks. I understand you can find good to great QBs later in the draft like...Brees, Wilson, Garoppolo, Carr, Cousins, and of course the most undervalued and overlooked QB of all time, Tom Brady. I knew back when they traded with Dallas to get Quinn it was a bad move. Just wait till round two and see what available.. Just goes to show that those were all desperation picks for the Browns and that is not how you build a franchise.

If i remember Chiefs had the next pick and looked like they were for sure gonna pick up Quinn, so Browns had to get in before them and like this video said, Quinn to Cleveland was every Browns fan dream, when Cleveland didnt take him at 3, lot of people were shocked.. @NMack-is3nb
@NMack-is3nb 3 жыл бұрын
@@billblaski9523 Well I would say I wouldn't worry about what the fans want. The Browns should have been trying to build a championship caliber team. Also Quinn's skill set did not fit the new offensive scheme that they were going to run. He didn't have the arm like Anderson to stretch the field.

The team that should’ve won it all in 2007, is the team that ended up winning it all anyway. The 2 games that LSU loss in triple overtime were straight up because of Les Miles letting off the gas in games that were borderline blowouts at halftime. Nobody had less than 2 losses, both of LSU’s were in triple overtime. Ohio St. had 2 losses, with 1 of them being a blowout loss to LSU. Virginia Tech had 2 losses, with 1 of them being a blowout loss to LSU. Georgia had 2 losses, but Georgia didn’t even win the SEC East, Tennessee did, with LSU beating Tennessee in the SEC championship game. West Virginia had 2 losses, with the 2nd one coming to Pittsburgh on the same day that LSU beat Tennessee in the SEC championship game. Then you had the Kansas & Missouri deal. When it was all said & done, the right team won it all. They clearly had the better résumé among all of those teams. They won the SEC by beating a very good Tennessee team, alone with beating a very good Ohio St., Virginia Tech, Auburn & defending national champion Florida !!! As crazy as the 2007 season was, it ultimately ended up sorting it’s self out with the right team being on top in my opinion !!

The Cleveland Browns were caught in a rut of trying to find "lightning in a bottle." They they hadn't "developed" a quarterback since Brian Sipe, who was a 12th round draft pick. Even Bernie Kosar sat behind Gary Danielson until Danielson got hurt. Lest we forget, Tom Brady was a 6th round draft pick that nobody wanted. He rode the pine behind Drew Bledsoe, and the rest is history. Quinn, along with many other doomed Cleveland quarterbacks, was tossed into the game and expected to win the Super Bowl immediately. This is an improbable task. Cleveland had plenty of opportunities to have great quarterbacks, had they just been patient.

It's too bad as he wanted to go to the Browns as a long time Browns fan growing up. It seemed like a great situation and we would be able to turn things around back then. The Browns were considered on the up and up back then as our 07 season left a lot to build on. But this just didn't work out. I personally thought it would as he had weapons and a decent line but it just didn't happen. I always liked Quinn. Ah well, our time waiting paid off as three decades of my life later I now finally have a Browns team again to be happy about. The guy who really got screwed over due to being on an awful Browns team was Tim Couch. That guy had the talent but just such an awful expansion team.

I remember when this guy was playing , it was said that he refused to train for being an NFL QB , and was insistent on training for a Muscle & Fitness cover shot. I believe that. Look at how he "threw" / shot-putted the ball. Just didn't have the mental strength / desire to be an NFL star. Being the BMOC at ND , and bedding numerous blonde sorority chicks was his peak.

I remember how frustrated he looked during draft day. He waited so long for his name to be called. I always liked his play at Notre Dame and I'm not even a Browns fan. I feel bad he went to a bad organization. Eric Mangini was a terrible coach.

I still believe to this day; had Miami drafted him instead of Ginn; both of their careers would’ve turned out differently.

Honestly i feel Quinn could have been great. He had a crap first year but he had potential. Even Manning sucked his first year.

I find the comment about how ohio state quarterbacks never make it in the NFL funny because I could say the exact same for most other schools but ESPECIALLY Notre Dame and Michigan (except one extremely famous backup)
