I don't think his goal was to make anyone feel BAD for him. He's identifying his behaviors, for better or worse, so that maybe the next kid from Kerrville doesn't make the same mistakes, and end up considering taking his own life. Nobody watching will feel bad for Johnny, but maybe they'll develop some understanding of him and why he did the things he did. Just my two cents. Gig em.

nah, I don't think he even had that level of self reflection or care. I just think he hated the NCAA and wanted to show everyone how they suck and how he got away with making money behind their backs, by basically besting them and the system. I really think he's that shallow as a person to this day.

It's really hard to feel sorry for Manziel - but many people around him also made mistakes that enable his path of self-destruction. Starting in College with his coaches looking the other way because of his talent and monetary benefits it brought the University, to his agent covering his mistakes to get him drafter, to the Cleveland Browns drafting him after knowing his off the field issues from scouting reports. Also, Brady criticizing Manziel on not watching film commentating professionally on a documentary only watching 10 minutes of the entire film is pretty ironic. Criticizing Manziel is a extremely simplistic way of looking at this issue - do better guys.

Brady Quinn should not throw rocks when he lives in a VERY glass house. He was a complete jerk while attending ND. Then he is such a jerk while playing for the Browns that his own offensive lineman beat him up. That has never happened before or since. I hated drafting BQ because he never had the mental abilities to read a defence and make the right throw. Don't get me wrong I was still rooting for him because I wanted to be wrong. Sadly he never did.

Everyone knew what a loser Manziel was, but what documentary showed were the losers around him also. Like Kliff Kingsbury admitting he didn't care about Manziel's well-being, only how it helped Texas A&M, and Dave Portnoy partying with him even after it was well known all of the problems he was having off the field.

Had he given his all, he would've been a pro-bowler and at worst a backup for some team right now. However, he just wasn't dedicated to football and had other priorities like partying. Not everyone can be as dedicated to football like Tom Brady and everyone else who stays in the league 10+ years. And in a profession that truly requires 100% commitment, you can't half-ass it like Johnny - He was talented, but not THAT talented....

What exactly was he good at other than running around for 10 seconds and chucking it up to 6'5 Mike Evans aka Mr. Consistency? He bailed out of clean pockets. Had accuracy issues all over the field. Easily the most overhyped QB prospect ever. Yes, over Tebow, over Russell and over Leaf. Tebow is the worst of the aforementioned players , but at least Tebow had a semi-useful skillset.
