@@Joe_Parmesan I agree...but Romo was an exceptional QB and the stats proved it, he just never had the team around him. Romo gave his heart and soul every game he played. They're like polar opposites. The only similarity is they were both unjustly hated.

@@lavetha27 Romo was completely taken for granted by many football fans. If he didn't play for the Cowboys, I don't think would've been hated as much. Dude was tough and kept playing. I didn't intend put Cutler at Romo's level, but, rather wanted to express that even with Cutler showing less than ideal effort as a whole, he was still better than anyone who came through the Bucs organization (before Tom Brady, which I never would've never guessed that would happen)

Just look at Kurt Warner. A Super Bowl QB benched because he sucked in favor of a flashier more athletic Jake Plummer. Then they got a good offensive line, put Warner back in, and went to the Super Bowl. It's amazing how much fans will blame or give credit to one guy in a team sport where everyone needs to be doing their job.

Not caring what people think is one thing but telling some dude, a fan, that he went to the same college as you who is obviously excited and all he can muster is "I don't care" maybe dude was having a bad day or something but he could have at least faked it and said "Hey right on that is awesome" no just shut the dude down cold. Celebrities that are dicks to there fans like that piss me off. They make insane money and have fame and fortune and people love them for it but without fans watching those games they would be nothing. Show some appreciation. He never did and always seemed to do the bare minimum. Maybe if he would have been more like a Brady or a Manning he would have been more successful.

JP Stone that’s why you can’t be a fan. A fanatic is being toxic. You must respect a man for his hard work and that’s it. You can not become infatuated because then those emotions start to take over. That same person you Idolized will start to become your enemy. Just my two scents. God bless.

No I get it I don't expect the dude to want to do have a beer with me or even care if I think he is a garbage QB or the GOAT. I am just saying the reason Brady, Mahomes, Goff....all these superstar players they make millions. Not that they do not work hard but they get way more money for their hard work than most and they can be paid that money because the fans are buying their jerseys, watching the games they play in, buying their special edition shoes or whatever. If your coming off to your fans like "I don't give a dame about you get out of my face" to me that is pretty trashy. I'm not saying you even have to be nice to me just don't be a dick is all.... Like I said hard to judge maybe in that moment he was having a bad day and that guy hit him up or maybe that story is BS and is a rumor. Him riding the bench after he got injured not even reacting to anything with a sourpuss look on his face though I thought that was pretty cringe too.

@@davincibleu9003 To be fair, if all the guy said was he went to the same school as Jay I wouldn't find that to be toxic at all. Honestly, his injury to the Packers is what made me start respecting him. Because he did continue playing for a while. And it was the coach who benched him. His "emotionless" on the sidelines is bogus. People handle it differently. Withdrawn and dejection is a very emotional state. People who can't accept that, are the ones with an issue. I didn't know he had type 1 diabetes. That makes everything he did insanely more impressive. Honestly, to do ten years with it? It's amazing. He was a Type 1 diabetic and had no way to measure his blood sugar because the technology did not yet exist. He went through hell with that disease. He never used PEDs. Do you remember Week 17 of the 2013 season Bears vs. Packers at soldier field. Winner takes the division and makes playoffs loser goes home. Jay played Amazing lit it up and put the team on his shoulders. He threw a TD to marshall at the beginning of the 4th quarter to put the Bears up by 8 and the Defense shit the damn bed. Even still jay threw a great back shoulder pass to Alshon in with about 7 minutes to play on third down that would've sealed the deal. Alshon dropped it!. Then Marshall dropped one on the next drive. Can't blame Jay for everything and the media did him awful in his time with the bears also they were 7-3 in 2011 when johnny Knox slipped on his route and Cutler was picked. He hustled his ass off chasing down the DB and broke his throwing thumb attempting the tackle. They lost 7 of their final 8 games WITHOUT THAT SHITTY CUTLER AT QB. I'm glad bears fans have gotten just what they deserved since Jay left. Garbage Can QBS. You would think they might actually try to appreciate and boost the man's confidence when he's the best QB in their franchise history by a long shot even playing only like 8 seasons there. As a Houston fan, know that we appreciate the burden you have chosen to carry. Given the chance, our dipshit coach would of probably taken Trubisky over Watson also. So we are in your debt, if you’re ever in a Houston sports bar, know that someone will gladly buy you beer for jumping on that grenade for us 🍻

Zayne simard moore Even though Trubisky got two offensive coordinators fired in three years, it’s all Nagy’s fault. Mitch was only drafted by Ryan “Slow Pace” because he was white and Watson and Mahomes were “athletes,” code for too black for the position. Besides, there is nothing special about a quarterback who does not play 16 games per year and throws no more than 30 times per game. The Bears only have a losing record when Mitch throws more than 30 times, Idiot.

Slayer Mill - Cutler’s biggest problem was also his biggest strength. He had that cannon for an arm and a couple times a game he would try to make the impossible throw and get picked off. Then, his Safety instincts would kick in and He’d get injured trying to make the tackle. It happened a few times.

He isn’t bland. He’s quiet and laid back. He’s clearly very competent he scored relatively high for a qb on the Wonderlic. in NFL that means something. Football was just a job for him. And let’s not forget he had a shit o-line his entire career. Sack after sack after sack. How the fuck can you be an upbeat QB when your line is allowing you to get pummeled game after game. Seems He wasn’t there to make friends. It was a job not a passion.

The bears summer training camp used to be held in my hometown. I remember going there every year and getting autographs. Cutler never signed any, rode out to the fields on a cart right past everyone. That's somewhat true but he got "injured" twice in huge moments of huge games (against the pack nonetheless) and it was like he never tried to fight through any adversity his toughness wasn't so much questioned but his heart was plus he threw so many picks not because of pressure but poor decision making and alot of bears fans will tell you and if you dont believe me you can look it up but he threw the ball with his eyes closed A LOT in chicago there is no room for being skiddish at the qb position the fans alone will eat you alive not to mention your opponent

My opinion...has nothing to do with *Sportscenter* Jay was a bust from the get-go; Another College hot-shot who got chewed up in the Pros. I was surprised when the Bears obtained him from Denver, as the Broncos couldn't wait to dump/trade him. Body language does say a lot, & Cutler always gave off the impression that he was'nt really "into" the game, often walking around...sulking. That, and the guy was just a doofus. Still rock this man’s jersey. Getting diagnosed with type 1 diabetes later in life is hard. The idea that a CGM and insulin pump magically make everything work is bullshit, man. It requires a lot of conscious attention and effort 24/7 and that’s not an easy thing to get used to if you haven’t been doing it for YEARS. I give the man credit. You shouldn’t be able to be a diabetic NFL QB not because of physical limitations, but because there just shouldn’t be enough hours in the day. I think the fact he managed to do it at all deserves a tremendous amount of respect 🤙
