I find that forward bay parking is much easier doing it in one smooth motion while you’re constantly moving just coasting at a slow speed into the space. This makes turning easier as it can also be done smoothly and I find it’s much more consistent.

Think I've missed / skipped a few of these so need to go back and watch them all eventually, but personally I don't think my instructor ever taught reference points and was talking to him about this on a refresher lesson. He was telling a tale that someone he knew got the dealer to put a sticker on the windscreen or something afterwards before they would buy because the car didn't have that as a reference point, or something like that. For reversing / parking maneuvers, the key is just to keep the speed low as you can move the car so much angle wise or have so much control at the lowest of speeds. Also just make use of mirrors and observations I guess. It's something I need to practice myself as I have just started driving again in the last few months after not driving for 3 years, but a lot of driving is down to feel. My main fault after passing before was speed coming up to roundabouts, so I only stare at the speedo to check I've reduced speed to around 25 ish when I come to a roundabout from a fast section of road

I'm also a learner driver and on my lesson recently I did the forward bay parking maneuver and it was so bad😂 I mean I wasn't double parking but I didn't pull up enough and too far to one side without fully being over so it could have been worse, but when I got down and looked I just laughed at myself lmao!
