Hate how roundabouts have faded road markings so you don't know which lane you should be in and possibly get a serious fault! They should change the driving test rules so that if it is unclear then the examiner should tell them which lane to be in or where to exit. It is not the learner's fault that the local council is not bothering or being too cheap to paint some lines and arrows on the road.

No. They’re faded but they’re there, that’s what driving is about, control and observation. If you need assistance from somebody, then you shouldn’t be on the road.

@@jab9871 I'm not advocating for no assistance. Ridan wrote examiners should say where to exit - they already do. If the road marking isn't clear enough, you stick to your lane and follow it through to exit. She was going into lanes when she shouldn't, that is a serious fault. Going the wrong way while sticking to your lane is not. If you are committing serious driving faults, you should not be driving, which this learner is as she stated before her mock test began.

@@BiscuiTea Understood, I thought you were advocating for no assistance when it’s extremely challenging for learners to get the grasp of roundabouts, which are the usually the leading cause for failure on tests. I’m just thankful I live in Scotland and we don’t have many roundabouts like these in my area.

To whoever reads this that has a test coming up, here are some pointers: -Remember to relax the day before. Don’t even think about the test! -Be friendly to the examiner & show them you know what you’re doing so they feel comfortable. -During the test, stay calm & alert. The nerves will be there but don’t think of it as a test too much. -If you go the wrong way it’s fine! It’ll be a minor. -Don’t try to drive “perfectly” just drive Safely. Lastly, I hope that you pass your test whether it’s your 1st/2nd/5th time…you will succeed! 💕

Yes I agree with the second one. I talked to my examiner the whole time and he was just as happy to talk back (and apparently he was the meanest one lol)! He talked throughout my entire test and it really relaxed me. I honestly think that’s the reason why I passed first time 😅

they always say you do most of your learning after your test, these videos helped my confidence with driving in unfamiliar areas SO MUCH. passing your test and being a good driver are not always one in the same but watching these keep me in check lol.

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for your videos, i've watched your videos for the past 7 months and learnt so much, I passed my test first time yesterday with only 2 minors but i know ill still be watching your videos :) for anyone that has their test coming up, just remember the MSM routine, always be friendly with the examiner and i know its easily said then done but just RELAX! take your time, and be confident in yourself. Even if you think you've failed (i thought i did as a stalled TWICE) don't give up and think you have failed just carry on driving safely. Good luck everyone! :)

10:00 When you stop on the right you get your car straight in the road several inches from the kerb and run forwards a bit to prove this whilst having your steering wheel straight. When you reverse it is all straight but so many drivers add a bit of left/right steering followed by a bigger amount of left right steering. There is no logic to this as it makes the front ent wave about and you lose track of the exact direction you are driving.

Passed just yesterday with 4 minors 2nd time round, very happy! However the real learning starts now, the test is incredibly scripted and does not expose you to the real world scenarios as much, so plenty more learning for me to do!!

Facts!! I have not taken my test yet, however I have been learning behind the wheel with my grandpa this past week or so and each time he asks me to drive a little farther and a little faster than the last which is definitely helpful. This past time I was exposed to a number of different scenarios (and idiot drivers of course) such as a garbage truck stopping and parking up right in front of a stop sign on a blind turn so I couldn't see but it's best to just stay cool and don't panic.

i always get pissed off when i find out that some people are not being trained properly on how to drive. it isnt just about driving, its about understanding the car. being one with the machine. if something is wrong you can feel it. i see a lot of people stall and their first instinct isnt to check their gears. instructors should start having their trainees explain how a car works before they start their lesson

I got the same manoeuvre, in all my lessons have never once messed it up, in my test last week, pulled up on the right, didn’t straighten the wheel so when I reversed car went back at an angle….then instead of straightening it up, just drove off. Luckily passed with 6 minors…😂

6:08 That wasn't dangerous? You can turn left from the island as it's a roundabout junction? Yes the arrows say straight ahead but that is showing the driver which lane to use to go to cosy road as is the primary route. That slip lane on the left is designed like that to prevent large amounts of traffic clogging the roundabout. Using the roundabout like she did was fine.

Road markings. It’s straight only not straight and left. You could get away with it when you’ve got your license but not on your test.

The biggest difference seems to be the gear shifts. Unlike automatic, you'll need to shift gears often, so you'll need to be mindful of that.

Passed two days ago perfectly, no faults,i still think my driving isn't perfect and i will focus on honing that skill in near future but the amount of "unskilled" drivers that i've ran into whilst learning was terrifying and they were the real danger on the roads. Unfortunately I failed my test today with 2 serious faults; got 2 minors as well. 1st serious fault was on a roundabout - was on the inside lane intending to go straight ahead but took the first exit instead - I knew I messed up and apologised to the instructor like 3 or 4 times after it happened 😂 - The 2nd serious fault was joining on a dual carriageway - there were cars in the right lane, left was clear and I thought I could go, but guess I was wrong, had to wait until they passed and both lanes were clear before merging - I didn't know about that lol. Got marked down for Junctions - Observations and Mirrors well before - Changing dir. My examiner even had the audacity to make me do the reverse bay park at the very end of the test... Aced it though 😎

Oh dear, I also don't know about waiting for the right lane to clear before joining the dual carriageway. I thought it only has to be the left lane where you have to join in that should be clear. I am going to ask for clarification wiht my instructor about this too.

Haven’t got my test coming up (a couple months) but towards the start of me driving I have accidentally pulled away in gear 3 and 4 a couple weeks later (on a roundabout both times). Somehow I didn’t stall the car either times and actually managed to pull away and then sort it to what gear I actually needed. No one including me knows how I managed to do it and not stall but I did 😂 Haven’t done it since and shouldn’t of to begin with but definitely proud of myself for managing it 😂

I'm in America, but I passed my test exactly 2 weeks ago on my birthday. I wasn't so nervous, and was somewhat surprised when the test came to an end. And the 1st time I drove by myself after passing the test was at night. I was somewhat nervous cause it could be easy to miss things if you aren't careful at night, but now it seems like i drive more at night and nightly conditions so I feel a bit better
