Great story, although some more emphasis on GENG's struggles practicing in China would be note worthy. They really had a tough time due to their org's previous statements regarding Taiwan being a country, resulting in the players not getting practice. Another mention would be the internal struggles they had within the team due to the whole frustrating situation. Regardless of the whole crowd somewhat being against them, they performed stunningly. (Was Karon being picked up from Ranked mentioned?? Cause I think it's hilarious af, bro is actually goated)

While it mostly stands true in the ranked games there are actually Chinese teams that scrimmed them like edg and Drg I believe and even then some others it's more to other teams from na emea and APAC not scrimming them because they believed geng will make a deep run It's mostly because of the Shanghai library narrative that China get so much hate

@@SplinxSyncs Yeah the lack of practice wasn't the biggest reason for the hate. It was the crowd and their hate cheering. I'd understand it if a crowd didn't cheer bc they were supporting their favorite team, but that wasn't the case. They were clearly cheering against GenG in every match, which was infuriating to watch. Near the grandfinals, though, there were some fans cheering bc this whole situation blew up. This event only went on to show how much control and influence the CCP has over the way the people think and behave. Really felt bad for Texture, especially, for being griefed in his soloq games to the point where he had to address all the hate.

GenG being a korean superteam is straight up wrong tho ? - Lakia : hadnt played in T1 for a year, obviously had some experience in T1 but major doubts on whether he still was good enough for tier 1 - Munchkin : Was a very disappointing IGL for T1 last season - Texture : Arguably the best player on a terrible GE team last season, but was mainly playing sentinel for them - Meteor : Duelist for the previous iteration of GenG, he was known to have a lot of issues with discipline, which made him a mediocre duelist player. - Karon : picked up from ranked, had played 0 official match before this. No T2 or even T3 experience whatsoever. A mental pickup

Chovy already railed BLG twice and TES in MSI. They just have to not fumble (like they usually do) and they probably get through. They're by far the best team no doubt in peak form. great message from your video, but I dont think that valorant is a game that any country can compete at the same level. Brazil already have a economic disadvantage, the overall computer settings here are worse than in other countrys. But the worst part of it is on the way that the championships are organized. To move an entire team to United States need a big investiment by the org, and after that, there are so many times when the United States security just block brazilian players from entering in the country by no clear reason. Just saying that there are a lot of problems with riot organization for championships

Until Chovy wins Worlds he'll always be shit on.. and even if he does win Worlds/make the Golden Road there will still be tons of haters. Just look at the conversation around him post-MSI compared to post-EWC. Everyone has seemingly forgotten GEN defeated LPL in 3x bo5 matches at MSI - TES once and BLG twice - but because GEN lost a single bo3 at EWC the haters have come out in force. There were even multiple attempts to vandalize the Grand Slam/Golden Road league wiki page to include EWC just to try to spite GEN's attempt at the Golden Road. Despite the fact that League's Golden Road/Grand Slam has been documented for years: winning spring champion in your domestic league, MSI, summer champion domestic league, and Worlds in a single year. Considering GEN has won their past 4 domestic titles, the real challenge for them should be Worlds this year. Look at the LCK/LCK Global youtube channel; they *still* haven't made a _single_ video regarding Peyz 28 kill world record or GEN+Chovy breaking their 7/5 year long bo5 LPL curse respectively, and the 'MSI celebration video' that LCK posted called *7* *Years* *Wait* is, get this, 14 minutes of excuses for why T1 lost and 9 minutes of saying GEN "got lucky" the meta favored them. GEN weren't even able to interview all 5 players in their own celebration video FFS, only 2/5 got interviewed! You can almost feel the contempt the LCK staff have for GEN. As a long time Chovy fan, I really hope GEN can pull off a miracle run and be the first to walk the Golden Road!
