Rule 7.1 for an illegal slam only refers to excessive force, and says nothing about landing on hand and knees or not.

@@flowingafterglow629 You have to bring the wrestler down safely, I have 3 kids who wrestle, I coach, I know a slam when I see one, that was not a slam. When you land on your hands and knees, you have landed safely. I have a rules book as well. Texted hof official friends of mine, not even close to a slam.

@@sweetsinnndy5201 Can the hof official point out where in the rule book it says anything about landing on your hands and knees? The rulebook only refers to excessive force. That is judgement call, and I certainly would not make the call from a video. No hof official is going to claim "not even close." They may say, "I wouldn't call it" but they also know it's a judgement call.

I am a professional college wrestler and when I was in my high school, there are inter gender matches where all type of female wrestlers including professional, well experienced and beginner female wrestlers compete with younger beginner inexperienced boys, if those well experienced/professional female wrestlers defeat some of those beginner inexperienced boys, then they compete with well experienced/professional boys and it happens in most high/middle school in the U.S.

That was a good match thanks for posting. To her credit, the girl in this match was a solid wrestler and she was physically strong for a girl. On the down side that referee stunk. The point he awarded the girl for the "body slam" at 4:32 was ridiculous -- at least 80% of all wrestling take downs or returns would be disallowed if that were the standard -- which it clearly isn't. He wait a while to make the call also so I think he knew it would be controversial -- he seemed to be trying to help the girl? For example, the two points for the girl's first take down were flaky too -- IMO - was anyone really in control? Still the boy has mostly himself to blame for the loss. He looks like a first year wrestler (freshman) but still this late in the season he should have brought a better mat plan including a better idea of what to do on top then he did? I guess this was 106 lb (or 108 in late season?) -- that is the only weight class girls have much success against boys? It would be interesting to know what the records for those two wrestlers were going into the match.

@@thematofconquering Actually my experience is mostly 5 years of HS and club wrestling (many years ago). I did some refereeing but only for intramural matches (no pressure). So I looked that tourney up on the FloWrestling site (its a State Farm sponsored event in NY -- mostly small schools it seems?). So like I said in my first post -- that girl (Teegan) is a good 106 lb wrestler and she ended up finishing second in that tourney -- good for her. But she had a lot of luck doing it. If you look at the brackets and all the matches you realize there was probably only one strong boy in the entire 8 wrestler bracket -- let's just call him Connor shall we? 🙂 If fact the 106/108 lb field was so weak that the boy Lucas -- who lost the match you posted to Teegan -- ended up on the top of the back brackets and took third place overall. 🤣 So you could also say she was the second best 108 lb wrestler at that tourney but that was a pretty weak bracket.

No. The rule (7.1.1) says that the wrestler needs to be returned to the mat without excessive force. That is the extent of the rule in the rulebook.

You can see this hard wrestling and it is a big mhyth then guys let girls win totally nonsens.No guy, i am too want extra losing a girl the thing is girls are often so extremely strong it look like as guy you let her win!!!??You can see how strong she is in the pin and the guy give all what he has.

@@farristolesome4419 Yeah, some girl wrestlers are very clever - quick and discrete and very knowledgable of boys' trigger points and vulnerabilities to get them to lose focus. Heck, they're on a boys team, they see boys' physiological response all the time. Girls are quite intrigued and feel empowered to induce such a response... easily.

All of the videos of females defeating males are well trained experienced/professional females against males who don’t have experience but still males who don’t have experience defeated well experienced females a lot. If professional females compete with professional males and if professional males go hard on females, then it can cause serious injury to the woman. In sports, strength is not the main thing you need, experience is very important. It is pretty hard for inexperienced males to defeat well experienced females since well experienced females train and practice a lot, they don’t only train or practice but most of them also workout a lot. Its not also surprising if a trained young female defeat trained male bacause girls reach their puverty earlier than boys and boys are not mich strong until they reach their puverty

For those of you who don't understand the team sport of wrestling, I'll explain: Many schools, especially smaller schools, don't have enough wrestlers on the team to cover all the weight classes. If one team has a wrestler at 108 and the other team doesn't then the team with the wrestler picks up a forfeit which is worth 6 points (same as a pin). If you put a wrestler at that weight (male or female) Who loses 10-1, the winner only picks up 3 team points (4 team pts for a win by more than 10 pts). Bottom line, would you rather forfeit 6 team points or only lose 3 or 4 team points by fielding a female wrestler who doesn't get pinned? BTW, she's a decent wrestler. The male wrestler was superior, but she didn't get pinned.
