Pederson even got a second chance. Don't tell me Bienemy didn't earn his shot.

@jackmerridewwАй бұрын

@MrPetej00Ай бұрын
The "disciplinary style" does work but at what cost? Most notable was Tom Coughlin who fined players $500 for not being early enough to meetings "If you're 2 minutes early you're late" mantra. That approach only works for an undisciplined team and only for those first few years. Then you will hear how the coach is losing the locker room as the veterans begin to get tired of it and start signing elsewhere. I have no clue how Belichick and Parcells did it. However the talk around the league and agents was you go to the Patriots to win super bowls you go anywhere else for the paycheck. Eric Bieniemy has a lot going against him. His coaching style, the not so successful tenure of offensive assistants that left the Chiefs under the Reid era in KC (Nagy, Pederson, Culley) and the fact that he wasn't a QB as a player or had a QB coaching spot. I think that last bit is probably the biggest knock against him. Any team looking for a head coach is probably also looking for a QB. What inputs does he have for finding a QB, Developing that QB and designing a system around that QB's strengths? If you ask me I am betting that is the portion of the interview he fails. As an Offensive minded coach all of that is on him. If he was a defensive minded coach it would be more about his defensive philosophy (zone vs man, vs blitz heavy attacking defense etc).

They replaced Hunt with Pacheco, he got injured, now he's back but they haven't got the running game back yet. The notion an owner would pass over a qualified experienced candidate - that he really believed would get his team into the playoffs or win a SB - pass on them because of skin color is idiotic. 13.7% of the US is black. 18% of NFL head coaches are black. Just because the NFL has disproportionally more black players than white doesn't mean head coaches need to have that same disproportion. Owners - NFL team owners, business owners etc - need to hire based on skill, education, experience, work history, success rate, intelligence, decision making, etc. NOT skin color or gender. Hire the best person for the job REGARDLESS of skin color and gender. We all just saw how hiring based solely on skin color and gender fails miserably with Kamala Harris - considered the worst VP in US history and clearly NOT a viable presidential candidate.

There’s one of three reason for EB’s failures. 1) He doesn’t communicate well, and the players today cannot relate to him. 2) He’s running a dinosaur system that may have worked 30 years ago with the right personnel; but when you can’t choose the players, it’ll flounder. 3) He’s just good at taking orders, and not giving them. A solider, through and through, but not a leader. He cannot handle when the kitchen is hot and he reacts badly without someone to lend a hand; like Reid was able to do in KC. I feel bad for EB but the only way he can rebuild his career is become a head coach at a lower level; even DIII if he has to and build a program and move up from there. Give him a chance to recruit and build a team; as a one and done won’t show anything; as with all great coaches that have built teams, it take years for players to learn, adapt and execute. Without even the greatest coach is dead in the water.

@Ph3n9om thank you, people on here just be talking, I pray my New England Patriots hire him as offensive coordinator 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Honestly Mike, the 21st ranked NFL offense is easily top-30 in the FBS. The problem comes in dumbing down the offense so the revolving door of college QBs (portal) can understand it. UCLA has little in the way of playmaking talent. EB would do well on a team bubbling up with some under the radar playmakers in the league but those teams tend to have offensive head coaches (Bengals, Rams, Jaguars, Colts, Broncos), which is probably WHY they have that under the radar offensive talent.
@FejjNagafАй бұрын
Let me help solve the mystery: of all of Reid's offensive coordinators, there are maybe 2 or 3 worth a damn. Being OC under Reid is an opportunity to learn or coast. Nagy coasted and had to beg for his old job back. Bienemy wasn't calling plays. It's a stain on the Reid coaching tree and is a real weakness for Reid - he isn't good enough at teaching coaching and doesn't delegate to the OC. So Bienemy didn't learn and didn't get experience.
@leonsharrodmАй бұрын
Yes look at all of his OC's none of them has proven anything not even Doug Peterson he stumbled on a sb* and what has and is doing now
@NoGoodHandlesComingToMindАй бұрын
Also worth pointing out that his year in DC arguably didn't count as experience since the organization was borderline fraudulent, and the HC was so incompetent that nobody could learn anything from him. From a professional improvement standpoint, it was basically a gap year for everyone involved.

All I can say as a Chiefs’ fan was the offense was better with Bienemy. He’s tough and if he could get RT Jawaan Taylor to not stand a foot back from the line of scrimmage I’d be happy. He’s been getting $20 million for the two years he’s been in KC to ruin drives and be the most penalized player in the league last year and third most o line tackle this year.

5:40 idk how tf it was racist Mike Tomlin, Todd Bowles, Demeco Ryans, and Antonio Pierce are all black head coaches in the NFL (well AP is prob gonna get fired and they’ll bring in Deion when they draft Shadeur, so that’ll still be 4 black HCs though), so yeah not racist at all there’s another reason obviously here

After the 2021 season, it was common knowledge Bieniemy would not be coming back to KC. He WASN'T running the offense (Reid and Mahomes were) AND he was constantly having blow-ups with players - including Mahomes inexplicably. The timing AFTER the 2021 season was perfect: (1) Reid wanted him gone (2) EB had been mentioned as potential HC and (3) there were something like eight HC openings. EB had a several interviews, but when nothing materialized as HC, Reid threw him a bone and gave him a 1-year contract, a this-is-your-last-year-here contract which was 2022. After the 2022 season, he was NOT coming back to KC...which was why he took the Washington OC position starting in '23...it was his only option - that OR return to the college ranks which he'd repeatedly refused. Reid wasn't going anywhere, so there was never any talk of his replacing Reid any time soon. For whatever reason owners and GMs did not come out of interviews with Bieniemy believing he is/was their guy. The 'bad interview' rumor? Speculation but it makes some sense. If his interviews got into detail about KC's juggernaut offense, it's possible EB didn't know the details since he didn't draw up any plays or actually run the offense, so I could see the interview not giving owners/GMs confidence in hiring him as HC - a FAR more complex and difficult job than OC or DC. What is CONSTANTLY IGNORED by you and the woke mob crying 'racism' is the FACT owners want one thing: TO WIN. They would hire a house cat as head coach if they thought that cat could get them into the playoffs. So the idea he was a legitimately QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED dedicated head coaching candidate that would WIN gets passed over because of skin color is just dumb.

What does Ryan Clark have to say now????
@NoGoodHandlesComingToMindАй бұрын
I think the "make it make sense" is more due to a quote-unquote "Good ol' boys" network and nepotism. For example, Rivera's DC (Del Rio) was basically just some guy who Rivera was friends with. This happens all over the league and I can see how racism is alleged so frequently, but I think friends-hiring-friends/family has much more of a role than racism. Anyone alleging racism also needs to explain the daily footage of said white coaches interacting in extremely high regard with players of color.
