Head Assembly, Time to get dirty // F22A6 [1990 Honda Accord]

Yo! Feels good to finish a video thats been in process for alitte over a year for some reason but I hope you peeps like the new style! ;)
Doin alittle dirty work on the ol' Honda Accord, thought it'd be sick to do a few cleaning tricks on carbon other youtubers threw out on this platform.

Dude, good luck with your rebuild. I bought a 1990 Teal Green 4dr 5sp EX new when they came out. Had to wait 3 months for it to come in. The best car I ever owned! Had it for 26 years. Had to sell it because of life circumstances. 270k miles. The best running, best shifting and riding car I ever had. I so miss it so much. Watching you does bring back so many great memories. I drove it from Vermont to Arizona packed to the gills in 1998. Had 133k miles at the time, 33mpg at 65mph. I hope all goes well and that you can enjoy your Accord for many years and miles.

I feel the exact same way about this accord and can't wait to bring it back to its original standings if not better like my grandfather had it when he bought it brand new. I hope someday you can grab another one to ride that nostalgia train again because I swear these cars are something els 🙌

Técnicamente, no es la culata, sino lo que está instalado en ella. Los resortes son más duros, lo que agrega más resistencia a las válvulas y el árbol de levas también es mejor, lo que agrega más potencia!

What tool is that you use for the springs? You didn't have to put the keepers in separately???

technically yes? You have to put them in place by hand but just push them both with the tool! The tool is in the description if you're interested in it!

Glad to see that you are continuing the build. I am going to do a h23a intake manifold swap. I was wondering if I could rock a pt6 ecu and the intake (since it’s the same as f22a6 intake) without replacing the cams and springs yet, do you think the engine would run ok with pt6 ecu ( I had a f22a4 manual)

Yo thank you! I definitely will! Honestly from what I've seen, maybe, it'll run rich. It should work out just fine but there is a black box you also need hook up with the ECU since your A4 wont have this. It sits directly below the A6 Manifold and from what I've read its the same for the H23A. As long as everything is connected the PT6 should be so-so, but honestly it's a pretty rough estimate since you haven't tossed cam's or springs. Personally I wouldn't do it yet but I hope your build runs beautifully if you do go for it. For alittle more information on the PT6, I did a video on it and I believe I touched on the blackbox/where to find info on it

Ps, I used a small wire wheel in my drill to clean the head of all the carbon. It was a brass “gold color” wire wheel. It was perfect

Did you ever find out why your cooling fan won’t work cuz mine isn’t work either but when I try to bypass it like you did with the paper clip it doesn’t work I don’t understand why

You can double check the wiring with a multimeter at your fans end to see if you're getting any power or double check your fan relay. It's been awhile since I've worked on the Honda personally so I can't honestly remember at the moment. Just got to trouble shoot issues till you pin point the problem but I hope you find your issue soon!
