What do you think of the gray/yellow colour combo? And have you had a chance to hit with this beast?? Let me know!

Not a huge fan of the cosmetics, it's just ok, no dislike either. I can uderstand the position about its power as I also play with a vcore 95 (model 2018, I think it has more feel and is so much more plushy than the New one) but in a 3 set match, I need the extra power of my tecnifibre tfight rs 300 (or extreme tour, they play the same).
@BuzzLightyeear3 жыл бұрын
Strange, when I tested the Tour I found it to be very much "not extreme" like the MP or Pro. From a power level, I would never compare the Tour to the Pure Drive, but rather like a 16x19 Blade. Definitely not a power racket with a 21/22mm frame. So we have very different experience here.
@MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
Might be that I play with the vcore 95 as my main racquet that is relatively lower power with a smaller head and denser string, so going straight to this made it feel like a beast. Glad you shared though! That’s why I tell people always important to test yourself before buying any racquet, personal feeling and experience will always vary.
@wilsoch3 жыл бұрын
I agree Buzz. I like the Extreme Tour a lot, but it doesn't hit a heavy ball. My hitting partners have commented on it --- back to back against my (weighted up) Blade 18x20, for example, they tell me I hit a lot more spin but there's not much weight behind the shot. I've tried weighting up the Tour, but I don't like the way it plays as much then.

Great video! I weighted it up HEAD Extreme Tour at 3 and 9, two inch each side total weight 1 gram at 10-2 O'clock 3 1/2 Inch 2.5 Grams, Replace grip with HEAD Hydrosorb Tour Tennis Racket Replacement Grip Tacky Racquet Handle Grip Tape - White. Add 2 strip of lead 3 1/2 Inch long 2.5 Grams, Specs now (strung) 336g, swing-weight 329 and balance 32. Plays similar to Radical mp with same spec imo, but offers more spin and power. Maybe I can finally settle on a racket. :-)

Funny I own this racquet and rate it quite differently. Strengths: manoeuvrability, feel and styling. Weaknesses: power and stability. The launch angle is also a bit low for my liking. Plays much better with added weight

Maybe a little extra at 3 and 9 with get that extra stability you’re after. Have you tested vcore 98 before settling on vcore95? Main difference that made you get 95

Yeah I have a comparison video up if you want to check it out. I went with 95 because I loved how precise I felt my shot was and how solid it was at net. Thanks for the comment!
@mteca50933 жыл бұрын
@@MikeKomen would you put weight at 3 n 9 or 10n2 to make the 98 more precise?
@MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
The weight can add more stability and pop but I don’t think it will have a major impact on control. 9 and 3 will make it more stable on certain shots so that could help. You could also try to add more spin to your game to take advantage of bigger margin for error.

Most reviews say that this racquet is a bit light and plays best with the addition of of lead in the hoop. Did you play stock?

Might be a bit of recency bias but I think I’m leaning towards this one
@ReidVV3 жыл бұрын
You seem to have a bias towards really heavy racquets. Although the new pro staffs are so head light they don't feel as heavy to swing as they really are. I like that, too. I like the reg pro staff over the RF, just for the slightly lesser mass combined with the super head light balance. It's the right mix for me.

How's it compared to PS 97 v13 please? Would you switch to this? Thanks.
@MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
Hi Andre! Thanks for the question. This one has a bit more pop and spin than the pro staff. If you are a heavy topspin player I think you’d like this one better, for flatter strokes I prefer the pro staff. I’m going to stick to my vcore 95, I’ve played with it so much that it feels the most comfortable and natural.

I found it really underpowered (kind of dead) but with good control and I like the look 😉. But nothing stood out for me, so it could not "beat" my Pro Tour 2.0. But you have to hit a racket, to understand it - not only read about it 😄

Berrettini doesn't use this actual racquet. You can't buy Matteo racquet anywhere. Same for Novak. Also this racquet isn't powerful. Power comes from the swing and swinging a heavy racquet like this one won't generate as much power as let's say a Babolat 270g. It's physics look it up.
