Head Lice - Causes, Symptoms and Treatment Options

Head lice are parasitic wingless insects. They live on people's heads and feed on their blood. An adult louse is about the size of a sesame seed. The eggs, called nits, are even smaller - about the size of a knot in thread. Lice and nits are easiest to detect at the neckline and behind the ears.
Head lice are extremely contagious. Close contact or sharing personal belongings, such as hats or hairbrushes, puts people at risk. Children ages 3-11 and their families get head lice most often. Personal hygiene has nothing to do with getting head lice. Head lice do not spread disease.
Symptoms are
Tickling feeling in the hair
Frequent itching
Sores from scratching
Irritability and difficulty sleeping. Head lice are most active in the dark.
Treatment for head lice is recommended for people with an active infestation. All household members and other close contacts should be checked. Anyone who has an active infestation should be treated. All infested people and their bedmates should be treated at the same time.

Lmao so dramatic. I had lice a few times as a kid (because a girl would always infect everyone else) and twice as a teenager. If you get them again just go to the pharmacist and ask for something to get rid of them and you're good. It's quick and easy. Also it has NOTHING to do with hygiene.

I am so sorry. I always go to the salon to get my hair done weekly. This time mine was not available so i went to a different salon. She washed my hair and told me i had lice. I went spent money on the lice kit. Went home. Husband looked over and over flashlight comb. Nothing!! Called a neighbor over looking looking.. nothing!!!@ i am soooo pissed I wrote up the salon and stylist on social media which i never use. I am soo sorry for you out there. @@joyceesoriano8027 the one i used was "full marks solutions". comb through your hair thoroughly until no more lice show up and then take a nice shower. it takes a bit of a while but if you do a good job at it they'll all go away :)

It is usually carried from a head to another, like it said. They can lay up to 20 eggs, or nits, a day. Just ONE of these eggs could get on another person and then you have tons of them if not treated properly

@@Tysnack I've cut my hair many times and the lice DO disappear but at last they come back ( I highkey think it's because of general reasons ). I washed my hair day before yesterday, and I don't feel the itching anymore, however, I am sure there are some lice left so I'm gonna ask my mom to do something about it (probably apply medicine etc idk lol) then I'll make sure to wash my hair more often (something I never do) and maintain it properly from now on, check time to time if they are lice or not. Yes you can. The heat from the hair dryer will definitely kill the lice, as well as their eggs. Just make sure to use the highest setting. You can also use the hair dryer on your bed and pillow cases to kill those lice too.
