Remember they had so many colonies and independence movement was brewing in almost everyone of them. Land mess they created in India with diving the country caused the death of 1M Indians directly in 1947. Countries border was drawn by Britishers who never visited middle-east. Iraq border was drawn arbitrarily on the map without much of common sense. Middle-east does not make sense as communities that lived together for millenia suddenly belonged to different countries all of a sudden. Kurdistan is the best example. Palestinians got screwed, o question there. but they tried to take the land back when they were strong 3 times with Arab help and they lost all the wars and now they want their land back. Ain't gonna happen. If that is case then Turks need to give back land to Kurds, Spain need to give their country back to descendants of Andalusian Umayyads and Russia need to give majority of their land back to Japan, Muslim rulers of central asia and finally US need to give land back to native Indians.

I love the Breakfast Club, and have supported the show through its growth and will continue to support this as a Black media news outlet. That said, I do hope and wish Charlemagne and DJ Envy go deeper in their research and understanding to assertively ask the important questions that need to be asked. They barely asked any questions, and the questions they did ask could have been more thoughtful in terms of how it was scaffolded for the listener. So it feels again, like good ole American propaganda. As a Black Entertainment News Network, we have to be more critical particularly on issues of justice and liberation. You can critique Hamas and also critique Israel. That’s how conscious thought works. I expected so much from this interview. But it’s just not going to happen in these 50 states. He's acting like Israel has been a Saint and this attack happened in a vacuum. That doesn't justify what happened, but it needs to be talked about. Depending on how brutal Israel response is to Civilians it might force other Arab nation to join in the fight. Iran already said they would. Yes, anti-Semitism is playing a role in the conflict, but it's not the only reason and pretending that this is just anti-Semitism and omitting the full story is just going to put Israel in even more danger.

@@kayn6858 It’s not that he necessarily lied about but what he omitted. For example the history he tells is leaving out key inform. Yes, the Jewish people are from Israel. However, at the time of this conflict the vast majority of the people who lived in what is now Israel were Palestinian. I think the number was 96 percent lived in Israel. In part due to the horrors of the holocaust, many Palestinians were forced out of their homes by the Jewish population to create Israel. Prior to the creation of Israel the two groups lived peacefully with one another. To this this day, in the little land that they do have, the Palestinians are still being forced out of their land which is against international law. For example in the West Bank, Israel is still taking land from Palestinians. Additionally, he omitted that Israel controls what enters and leaves Gaza which is understandable since Hamas wants to destroy Israel. However, what that has caused is a lost of rights and poor conditions for Palestinians. This is a super complex issue but each side is determined to win rather than tell the whole truth which can bring about peace.

Their Pime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu is under investigation for corruption. His approval rating was in the tank and about half of the country was in the street protesting him trying to strip the courts of their power to give himself more power just a few weeks ago. Then he gets warned by Egypt that something is going to happen, fails to prevent it and all of a sudden overnight nobody is talking about how unpopular he is. He let it happen. It's also worth pointing out that almost 30 years ago, Israel and Palestine were on the brink of a peace agreement under an Israeli Prime Minister named Rabin. The current Prime Minister Netanyahu led violent demonstrations accusing Rabin of being beholden to "terrorists" and selling Israel out and shortly thereafter, Rabin was assassinated by a right wing Israeli in Netanyahu's party. That man is a monster and he has worked to thwart every chance at peace for the last 30 years because he wants extermination of the Palestinian people. This was the pretext for him to do it and solidify his own power.
