That is indeed true. However, the Max Schultz kind of deserved it because she was a filthy teamkiller because she rammed the torpedoboat Tiger and sunk it xD and the Leberecht Maß didn't sink from the bombs if I remember correctly, but because she hit a mine (which she had planted herself earlier), so it was kind of a suicide. Or was it a British mine? I don't remember the details.

I think this episode should become a scenario, where you cannot identify any ship without looking at the ship it self. There would be no identifying marker over the ship to know where they are. It would make the scenario more interesting in a storm like in hermes. It would be an interesting scenario. The scenario would also have no friendly fire and you don't get the anti-abuse system in that operation. Just something I thought would be fun to try.

That is the reason to make people realize they need to look at who they are shooting at. They can make it where it is all PvP or PvE. Either way doesn't matter. Just make it where you need to see the marking on the ship to know if they are on your team. Making a team flag would work for this.

1:40, when i saw that part it makes me remember in 2003 Clone Wars when ARC-170 was chased by 3 Vulture droid, the gunner on ARC missrecognize Mace Windu that riding a "Reprogramed" Vulture and think that they were chased by 4 Vulture. When Mace Windu destroyed all the Vulture droid the pilot of Arc said "Good Shooting!" and the gunner said " Huh? It... it wasnt me, its general Windu!"

Reminds me of a story from the show Battle 360 where American dive bombers were on their way to bomb a Japanese base in the middle of the night. When they began to come in range of the island, one of the pilots suddenly came under AA attack. but the others weren't. The pilot was confused how they could see him in pitch darkness and not the others. When the flight lead looked back, he noticed the pilot had left his Nav Lights on. The flight lead told him to quickly turn them off. Once he did, the AA fire ceased.

Good video! But reading the comments i feel ashamed. So many mouth-warriors with half-truths, bragging with deeds their grand-grandfathers did. To the Germans: the RAF aborted this attack in time - different than the Luftwaffe which around the same time of the year actually managed to sink two of their own destroyers. To the Brits: the RAF didn´t "single handedly defeat the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain" - it was benefited by the fact that the battle was over British soil. Every British pilot that got shot down was picked up by allies and put in service again while a downed German pilot was lost for good. Also, the RAF had the luxury of support by AA on the ground.

I have a story I wonder if anyone can confirm. It was told me by an old U.S. sailor, Three U.S. destroyers broke through the fog in the midst of 4 IJN cruisers. The destroyers were single file, the cruisers were two by two. The lead cruiser flashed a challenge at the lead destroyer, the Yank captain had his signals officer flash the challenge to the adjacent cruiser who responded and the yanks flashed the answer back to the lead cruiser, the Yanks sailed between the cruisers and back into the fog before the Japanese realized what was up. True?

So if the German planes had not attacked the British bombers right then, the bombers may not have realized the destroyers were friendlies until they had completed their attack run. There was also the incident during the Battle of the Coral Sea where a flight of IJN planes got lost on return and tried to land on the Yorktown. Misidentification by planes of ships was a huge problem during WWII, especially in the early days.

Since is saw the option to remove the HUD (ctrl, or hif G, now i do not remember), i would like a HC mode where in a really big map, nations could fight with each other by only checking what they are see, and not because "there is a red mark above them"...

There were games like that (I remember Fighter Ace II did that), but those games often ended up clunky, unbalanced, and spread players way too thin. I think WOWs finds a decent balance between maps that are too big and maps that are too small allow players to maneuver.
