From a brain injury survivor and brain injury specialist...please remember...a GCS of 15 =/= no brain injury. Many patients go home and never follow up. They often have white matter damage that takes several weeks to show up. Families dismiss symptoms because the ED said (in their mind) they were "ok" or "fine" because they wanted the incident behind them. Please stress how important it is that they follow up any changes in cognitive, emotional, or behavioral conditions. That not needing emergency care isn't the same as not needing care. Many survivors have ruined lives because of this.

I am living with a MINOR head injury that I received 30 years ago. "Oh, you'll be fine." "It's a closed head injury, no need to worry." "Seizures? Those are normal after a blow to the head. No need to worry." "You need to get over this. You are fine." "Stop malingering, you look great." These are things doctors have told me. Idiots.

If your symptoms last over two weeks you could have a neck misalignment that is partially blocking the flow of cerebrospinal fluid. You may want to check out an upper cervical chiropractor and get that straightened out it really is helping me with post concussion syndrome.

@@JohnnyWishbone85 Uh no they take precise X rays and see if your atlas is shifted out of position and deliver a small force with an instrument to correct it so it's not pressuring the brain stem which is basically the control center of every function of your body but thanks for your comment.

@@JohnnyWishbone85 Another problem you have when C1 is off center is your brain compensates by leveling your head to keep your eyes level. This causes your spine to twist and one leg becomes longer then the other and puts a lot of force on your back and one of your knees.
