You are actually amazing in both registers. I wish you could share some throwback photos of your past roles in opera and musical theater in Master Your Voice with Freya. ☺️😊

I did not know how the differences are between head and chest voice! I thought head voice was the proper singing voice. That much illiterate in music I am. Thank you so much for this video, Freya! I appreciate all of your teaching videos! So Many things to learn! I have no knowledge of music, I cannot even read music notes. Only normal, one sharp and one flat only used Music only I can understand to read. More than two of those are too hard to comprehend the sound reading music. I have never had any musical instruments to play to learn, either. All new, and very slow learner without Much practice, either. Your videos started to motivate me to learn more. I wish there was a way to recieve your video on my e-mail every day! All the past video recordings so many of them. I have a lot to catch up. Thank you so much, Freya!

Seems like i am the only one who can’t tell the difference. Help a sister out people. I thought she sounded beautiful in both.

I wonder if the difference is how easy it is to sing in the correct register, rather than how it sounds? I couldn’t hear much difference either

Can you talk about the differences between head voice and falsetto? I know falsetto is more breathy, but all people tell me that I sing with falsetto and never heard voice when I thought I was using head voice.

Transitions are my weakest aspect of my voice. I really don't enjoy the sound of my lowest head voice notes, they just aren't as bright and compressed as my high notes, so I usually try to use my high chest voice whenever I need access to those notes. I also try to pick songs where I can stay in one register for entire phrases, like "Blue Bayou" by Linda Ronstadt. I can be all chest voice in the verses and all head voice in the chorus. But I do find that I avoid songs that I would really like to do because they have difficult transitions.

You make chest voice sound beautiful and feminine. I'm female, but when I sing anything below middle C, I feel like I'm singing with a manly voice. I can extend this "manly" voice up to around Ab, but singing in this type of voice gives me a sore throat. I can sing for hours, but only if I use my higher voice, (or a blended voice when singing between D4 and G4). If I use my just my deep chest voice too much, it hurts.

I don't really have power to sing in head really I think I just sing chest voice..... I usually mix in head voice every now and then my chest voice though kind of sounds masculine/masculine?

Why my head voice so disturbing sound
@shelleywalsh15005 жыл бұрын
I tend to at least think I seldom sing in chest at all. But when you sing in chest, it doesn’t sound like what I think of as chest. But now my teacher instead of telling me to sing more in chest said to make it darker. That I could do and he said I was singing in chest. This led to some discussion about covering, which we were taught girls should do to sound like ladies. But covering is not the same as head voice. So I discovered I sing in chest or at least partly more often than I previously thought. Yet this darkened head tone/very covered chest is closer to my ear and feel to head than to chest, and yet I am aware of feeling it in my chest a bit. So now I’m curious about what covered chest tone is. The thing I find is that the difference between it and head is subtle enough that I maybe have trouble at times with high notes, because I’m not aware enough of it to no how to switch to true head tone? But the only real break I get is at around G3 when the voice needs to go full chest.
