My deepest thanks ! It's so helpful. I did not realize that posture affects breathing. I will keep my chest up, though I feel so unnatural in the beginning !

there are but so many videos about this subject dear Freya . Yours is as usual is very informative and helpful. But how could you miss the part whether to inhale from your mouth or the nose or fro both. How can most vocal coaches miss that part is something that I really don't get . Please share your knowledge on that aspect as well Freya. I request . Chamikara

What do you mean by keeping the air passage open? Is it a slightly lifted soft palate and relaxed tongue while keeping neck relaxed?

Hi, thanks for doing this for us, I think I am doing something wrong, After breathing so much air while practicing I get alot of windpain it can bother me for a week or more at times, I can feel the wind stuck. I usually use pills for gas to ease the pain. Second question, is singing blowing outward or inward. That i cannot follow. I mostly get the pain when I sing in a blow out manner. Any advice? I also get a better tone when i sing inward. by that I mean its like inhaling the wind through my mouth toward the back of my tongue and i also get a better tone. But as Iisten to you and other coaches. I think I am doing something wrong

8:39 YOU DID OUT IN MOUTH BREATHING 2X WHY? WOULD YOU BE LIKE THAT ON STAGE DOING IT INTO MIC?
@soulitude8143 жыл бұрын
What is the problem if I keep my sternum lifted, but feel too rigid to breathe deeply a second time? I do not feel rigid for the first breath, but after exhaling; it's almost like I freeze and over-analyze my next breath.

Ahh maybe 7:48 is the explanation. If someone has any input on this, please share; I would really appreciate it 💞

Hi Freya! Can you make a video of tips for practicing singing during quarantine? Currently stuck in the house with 4 other people 24/7 and going slightly crazy because I can’t sing as often and as loudly as I would like to 😅
@AlexB-vb2tw4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Sorry being stuck in the house is driving you crazy. Things that helped me are playing the keyboard with headphones (not singing, but it still helps with pitch, rhythm, and memorizing melodies), singing into a pillow (I tried the BeltBox and it did not work for me AT ALL; I really regret buying it), quieter exercises like lip buzzes, listening to singers I admire, and just going over my sheet music silently. Hope this helps! :)
@chloemcginley82754 жыл бұрын
@@AlexB-vb2tw those are all good ideas! there are definitely other music-related things I can be practicing right now other than singing. I've been doing some breathing exercises and trying to learn some songs on guitar, but when I really feel the need to sing I can at least sing in the car lol.
@lettinggrace3 жыл бұрын
Humming can allow you to sing without words while you listen to music. That's something I've been doing. That way your voice is still being used.

Too much breath kills the voice. You keep saying fully fully fully Which turns the singer into a balloon. You should talk more on proper EXHALING . ✌🏻
