I was at the Summer Slaughter show at Skyway Theater after all this went down. The band members walked on stage to deliver a message that they would continue making music to honor his legacy and it was an incredibly emotional experience. They received a long ovation as they stood side by side holding hands and bowed to the crowd. Not a dry eye in the place

I almost found him. Went fishing with my wife that night. Unknowingly parked behind his car and everything. Came to a T in the trail. Left went to the bridge, right, to the ravine. 9 times out of 10, i went left to go fish the bridge hole. Had a very odd feeling come over me at the T and chose to go fish the low ravine hole that night. Cops all over the river that night, couldn't figure out why. His soul turned me right that night. He wasn't ready to be found. Rest peace Justin. We miss you and your riffs dearly.

Yes, this haunts me for years as I followed the entire process of the incident only to find him dead, I also think it’s weird that the band doesn’t seem too sad and avoids talking about it and just moving forward so quick, like when The Rev of A7X died they looked really heartbroken and took years to get it back together, I’m still a fan of ATB it’s just the whole thing went away so quick and people just forget about it, also another weird case is Oli from All That Remains, why did they just died without any clear explanation? Shits really haunted me man…

Also wanted to point out that you said Dan Carles drumming was standard for the genre…I disagree… while it may seem so, his kick drum game is like the musical equivalent to having a degree in physics IMO. His ability to play polyrhythms flawlessly and make it sound simple is mind boggling. Some of those kick patterns like in Pennyweight and A wolf amongst ravens while keeping a steady beat with the hands is absolute insanity.

His folks drove them up and I gave him a ride to meet them. He was so gracious, and thankful. Soft spoken humble guy. I was just stoked to talk metal and chill with someone part of a band I truly looked up to since my early teen years. I'm happy I was able to see them live in Norway in 2012. It's really sad Justin Lowe was depressed passed. It made me really upset when some people claimed it was a conspiracy. I actually never really thought about Djent being a way to play guitar instead of being a genre. Edit: I realize now that I might have mixed up what I mentioned earlier with what Justin mentioned about his friend's death being fake. It certainly looks like he had some mental illness. It's really sad to see someone go this way. To be fair, almost this situation he imagined happened to the vocalist of Thy Art is Murder recently. The latest years I've been learning a lot about mental illness since I myself probably have ADHD and possibly bi-polar. When I learned that people with schizophrenia and alike. It was pretty scary to learn that many of the symptoms actually can be that they suspect someone is trying to poison them and change the medication. So if someone actually would like to have him killed doing just that would probably not be considered a possibility.

25:48 That tone was a necessity by design. They tuned to C on their 8 strings in the same octave as the bass. So in order to have any clarity with such low notes they had to basically cut all the low end and compensated for that by having the bass fill that in. The mix is kinda iffy, but the tones work and I don't think they could have pulled it off any other way really.

I remember that day, July 22nd, opening Instagram and seeing my feed flooded with posts - “RIP Justin Lowe”. I just uttered out loud, “No…” It all happened so fast.. It’s this man and his partner Trent who made me appreciate what you can actually do with an extended range guitar. I was following the story from the day he quit the band and disappeared. I’d already had a sinking feeling about what he’d done but I didn’t want to believe it. What I think happened is his friend’s suicide broke him and he happened to see someone that looked like him and it set off a huge fire in his brain about how to explain it and spiraled from “my friends death was faked” to “everyone in my life was in on this and are trying to ruin me” and kept blaming all his bad experiences in life on this. He couldn’t handle this and jumped off that bridge. They recorded Wolves Within in GarageBand, that’s why it sounds like it’s recorded on a phone.

What a fantastic video. I have been listening to ATB since the original rare form. A few sounds where dlc for rockband 2 and I was hooked. I like both versions for different reasons. it's reminds me of vanilla cake and chocolate cake. Both are cake and both are awesome for different reasons.

I played with them in Rockford IL 2 different times. 2007 and 2008. He was kind of quiet but was a very nice guy. Very sad.

I was in college the day Justin posted the post and I believe him... I am one of the few that believe his story.

I believe him too dude. You should come into one of my livestreams sometime. It sounds like he was a victim of something very similar to what is called "gangstalking". I can take you down the rabbit hole if you are interested.

Does anyone remember the CP laptop allegations being made on Facebook shortly before Justin melted down? The band didn’t leave it up when Justin went missing but I feel like that had a part in his meltdown

I do, you can also find the post he made that he explained alot. You can see that whatever was going on was taking a toll on him. Sounded like he thought literally e eryone qas out to get him. Poor dude honestly needed some help.

i was just a little guy... 13, 14, and this stuff took me away to happy land for years. Myspace was big, and through bmth, as i lay dying, devil wears prada, suicide silence, job for a cowboy .. I was an instant fan .. having covered Nothing Else Matters on guitar for 5th grade talent show, My ears were thoroughly seasoned and ready for the heavy metsl diet. Next came The black dahlia, dying fetus... born of osiris.. within the ruins... omg 2011... desolation of eden was already out . whitechapel was still scary heavy... not long til Acrania would put out the beginning of the end, and Luke would send them to the slaughter house. and ive been jamming ever since. I did however quit my band and left the scene in 2017, became a welder and started a family. Now I got my own music released through distrokid. check my channel and dig through the playlists if you like this stuff, got a little touch of gangsta to your taste but tired af of fake and lies and hungry for truth and ways to spread it. love all of you metal loving fools. Godspeed on the devils thunder. or something like that ❤

the band/label would have been pissed with him releasing a demo reel. 2 days later he goes crazy. probably had bipolar/schiziofrenia but the band kept him sane, losing his identity after being confronted by the label would have lead him down this sad path.

I'm saying this now before it doesn't get said. The guy who ran Sumerian records named Ash(e) during the same time Justin died was a renowned devil worshipper. The record label is literally called Sumerian records and Sumeria birthed Babylon, which is the birthplace of occult practice. His label could have set him up for a sacrifice of some sort with this in mind and he either panicked and fell to his death or his label got him.

This is why all bands wanted to be buried. After the burial, before the burial, buried under Texas, between the buried and me, I mean if your band wasn’t buried it wasn’t hard I guess lol.
