Shot cheap, but strangely, it had excellent sound track for that barely into sound era.. A poverty Row type production values when HQ offices were still in NYC. A beaten-to-death plot with a little gangster style dialogue inserted for short scene takes. Heroine appearance was set for the time period of 1930s. I guess to promote her competitiveness to other actresses of that 1930s decade. The entire ensemble were experienced in western ranch-hand skills. Excellent riding by all who were filmed astride a horse. My comment may fool you, but I watched the movie as a man of eight decades of age. I watched many such films on Saturday afternoons as a young boy. Noticeably was the absence of "shoot-out" scenes. Good western clothing that showed it as men's chosen individual clothing styles, even for the fedora style hats worn by 2 men.

Typical acting and show-off for the era; playing cowboy roles for a child actor, mimicking Will Rogers' stage acting. The child was accomplished in his persona.

You can always tell the silent era actors they put more emphases on body and facial projection. Doesn't make them bad actor but you know what they are trying to get across.
