Hi All, thanks for the tips. I managed to do it without taking off the bumper or headlight. All u have to do is remove the wheel and cover, then use a flat head screwdriver to lift and snap off the edge of the left or right plastic hinge, then u can lift the other hinge and give it a wiggle to let it loose and finally pull the bastard out. After fitting the new one u can pull out the plunger through the bumper hole using some pliers, then use another larger plier to hold the plunger in its extended position (with a tea towel in between so u don’t damage the plunger with the plier) and then u can fit the headlight washer cover and there u have it, £120 labour cost saved.

Ditto to Skippy, I just did my girlfriend's e93 335i convertible. Didn't need to remove the headlight or bumper... Just remove the wheel, wheel well liner, and everything is right there. Hint: if the pump that you're removing is already broken, just break off one or both wing tabs on the broken pump to help making removal easier.

you can disable it with bimmercode but I am not sure if fluid still goes to the pump
