No wireless system and to be honest I didnt think that was a big deal. But the wireless works so flawlessly that it makes integrating the PC with the unit really seamless. It is a pretty nice feature to have. Put the MX-5 up for sale and get this thing. Yes they needed this editor bad and it really unlocks what this unit can actually do. Can it do transpose like cortex or kemper stuffs?
@theiranxican7412Ай бұрын
Yes it has the drop tune effect. It's not half bad if you got some medium or hotter output pickups. Just don't expect it to outperform Digitech, L6 helix, or neural dsp as those are in my opinion the utmost best drop effects in the market. For rhythm is great, but when you fiddle some lead you can kinda hear the warbling depending on how low you go. I hear it roughly around -4 semitones. But yeah just food for thought. I still love the mx5 and more than willing to sell it and get the flex prime.

@theiranxican7412Ай бұрын
@nuengarsenal2542 ha not a problem! I've been trying to work this within my rig as well and it took quite a bit of finessing. The digitech drop pedal is great for the size and if you're only using one tuning at a time. If you need more flexibility you'll probably just have to bite the bullet and shell out extra money and space for the whammy DT. Or take it further and just get any L6 stuff or buy quad cortex. Here's what I succumbed to: I have my 2 main guitars set in standard tuning and the other in baritone tuning. If I have to "tune up" I just use a capo on my baritone tuned guitar and call it a day lol. It looks a little silly and you have to reassess your playing but at least it'll sound authentic instead of the digitalization of your guitar with potential warbling and tracking issues. Not to mention the amoint of dsp that shit eats up depending on your modeler. It's a trade off but I've come to accept it and find it unique but thats jusy me lol 🤷♂️ I still have the option to drop tune my sound anyway so no loss either way.

From everything I have seen (including your vids) the Ampero has generally better effects, especially reverbs and delays. Plus the Ampero has a mic input (a big perk for buskers) and the more flexible signal chain. If you had to say, this one gives me more bang for buck, where would you land? You can save your response for the video, I'm mostly thinking out loud. I appreciate your vids man! Having the perspective of someone who has hands on experience with these units really helps me wrap my mind around what i could use vs what sounds nice on paper but is not for me. @@TaylorDanley this part here. 3:21 Yeah I am confused. I get that you do it externally using the software on a PC on not the HR device. But how do you interface what ever it is you are trying to capture or is this not what you are doing here?

@@TaylorDanley I ordered mine as soon as I saw your vid. I had an MX-5 and had to sell it. Im getting older and eye sight isnt as good as it used to be and I was getting headaches from eye strain using that thing. So I sold it and I really liked that modeller otherwise. So now that there is an editor Im getting one :)

@@TaylorDanley So I got mine yestureday and Im blown away by it. Ive had the MX5 and other modellers at this level. This new version is pretty awesome. They dont have it set up very good from factory its a bit trebbly? But get into the dynamic channel EQ and you can wake this thing up and get some incredible tone out of it. Yeah they really needed this editor it just unlocked what the MX-5 / Flex Prime can actualy do.

Update the MX5 with these capabilities and I'll be happy.

MX5 is dead. They're not even bug fixing it anymore.
