Great video and ideas! We have an amazing update coming with new features and more!! FYI the top row can also start the tracks after a loop has been stopped so you don't go into record mode, you can also customize the Peel, Clear and Undo functions in Global settings.

Hi, while waiting for my HRLB to be delivered on Monday from Germany, I literally devour all videos regarding it. So much knowledge in my hands even before I lay them on the buttons and knobs. The best way to stand the hard time of waiting /nevertheless this is the best time when extinguishing my G.A.S./ Please keep on sharing your knowledge, I appreciate it so much.

Hi! Great Video, I have a question regarding from stop to record Mode. Was it updated? Can you now go from stop to play instead of having to stop recording? Thanks

Yes it was. This was recorded with v.1 software. You can change it in the version 2 software. Have a look here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3jHnKSIpLxkmsU

Hi John Paul. Thanks for all your hard work with these great videos. I need some advice, and you seem like the perfect guy to ask. I'm a solo performer and want to incorporate a pre-recorded backing track into my live shows. I don't want to loop anything. I just want to play over the top of my own backing tracks. I've created them on a DAW (in their entirety) as WAVs and want to import them from my PC into the Headrush Looperboard. Onstage I simply want trigger the start of each track/song with my foot (without bending down!). Basically I have two questions. *a)* Can I easily achieve this with the Headrush Looperboard using the backing track functionality? (One of your other videos seems to suggest this, but I need to be 100% sure). *b)* Is there a cheaper/simpler solution out there? This looperboard looks amazing and I'm not averse to buying one if it's the best option, but I'm worried that it's unnecessarily extravagant for my needs. i.e. I'd be buying a Ferrari when I only need to get a bicycle. :) Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Bryan. So to answer your questions, yes it will do it. But more importantly, Yes indeed it’s a Ferrari that if you are not using the loop part, you are buying unnecessarily. I wouldn’t buy a looperboard just for backing tracks. There are other solutions out there and one that springs to mind is still in development, so I’m not sure when it will be ready but have a look at idoru.live Idoru is meant to be the holy grail for backing tracks as you can load the multi channel version and even mix on the fly with midi clock support as well, all at your feet. But it’s not out there in the market yet.. but it is still cheaper than a head rush. The alternative is to get a simple but powerful looper and just use this as a backing track player. I would recommend a Boss RC-5 with the additional footswitches. It has 13hrs of playback time, 32bit, 44.1 wav and 99 memories. You could just load each song as a memory via computer into the 99 slots and then use the main button to play and stop. You can program it so each ‘loop’ is one shot and stops after playing and then use an fs-6 or fs-7 pedal to simply move up and down the memories. You can plug into it but you could just leave it with stereo jack out and be your player, and at around £150 it s MUCH cheaper. Hope that helps? @@JohnPaulMusicUK Wow. What an amazing answer! This is exactly what I needed to know. The Idoru looks perfect (And living in Japan, I like the Japanese connection). The Boss RC-5 looks like a great solution too. I presume, once connected to a PC, it opens up a 'RC-5 folder' and I can just dump my WAV's in there? Also, I have a DigiTech FS3X footswitch. Would that suffice in lieu of an FS-6/7? Either way, you've saved me 100's of quid (or 1000's of Yen). Thank you so much.
@JohnPaulMusicUK
@JohnPaulMusicUK 3 жыл бұрын
Yes. That digitech would be fine. 👍🏻 Yeah the Boss RC software is a basic but yeah, you just drop the files in. Have a look at this (same for the RC-5) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnO4qnyXn7iSeLs And your more than welcome. Happy to help. www.buymeacoffee.com/johnpaulmusicuk

Hi John Paul really enjoying your informative vids. Just wondering if you have hooked your beatbuddy up to the headrush pedalboard or looper. would be great if you could run through that. Cheers Gregg

The looper can be used in many different ways. I use it mainly to study different arrangements and comping. I try to quickly develop an idea that I then metabolise it and records it my daw . I Work on long drafts that can easily arrive from 32 and / or 48 musical beats. I ask you to develop a tutorial in this direction that is diametrically opposed to live performances where very short loops are used. Thanks in advance

Awesome tutorial. Question...how many loops can you save and have internally in the looper?
@JohnPaulMusicUK
@JohnPaulMusicUK 4 жыл бұрын
Great question. You can save as many patches as you like until the internal storage is full. Its down to the size of the loops so the only limit is the size of the drive inside. There is also USB and SD card to bring in and save more, making it unlimited. 👍🏻 In version 1 of the software the loop time limit was 5 mins.. but now in version 2.. thats gone and be as long as you like. 👍🏻 Heres my version 2 video. Enjoy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3jHnKSIpLxkmsU

@@JohnPaulMusicUK Sweet! So I can connect a USB 4gig drive and save my patches on there correct? That will help make it unlimited?

What would you recommend, the headrush or the boss rc-600? In your opinion, what one is more user friendly? Also, which one is more reliable?
@JohnPaulMusicUK
@JohnPaulMusicUK 2 жыл бұрын
They are both reliable and the user friendly is that gorgeous touch screen on the Headrush Looperboard... however.. to get the most customisable looper with 6 tracks and 32-bit floating.. its the RC-600. The holy grail would be an RC-600 with HeadRush Looperboard's Combi jacks and that touch screen. I Have both - and right now for me the RC-600 is what I want to user more than the Headrush. The Headrush is an awesome looper. It's down to what you want.

Hey John Paul. Thank you so much for your informative videos. In RC-300, the instrument output is 16-bit/44.1kHz. I notice this as a degradation in my guitar sound. How is it with Headrush? Is the quality better for the outputs in Headrush?
@JohnPaulMusicUK
@JohnPaulMusicUK 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Leeni 👋 So the Looperboard can be 16-bit/48khz (can have it at 44.1 if you want) and it keeps the full dynamic range of everything coming in. I dont hear any degradation.

Amazing! Can you tell me if it's possible to start 2 tracks with one switch? For example I record a Kick on track one and a basse on track two (for separate sound to front of house) Can I start the two tracks instantly with one switch? thank you so much.

Hey JohnPaul . I need to know if it is possible to fade in. with headrush looperboard? Greeting Aksel
@JohnPaulMusicUK
@JohnPaulMusicUK 5 жыл бұрын
Hi! So the fade option is a fade out.. however if you attach an expression pedal to the Headrush Looperboard and assign that to all the volumes of the loops then you could manually fade in and adjust the volume as well. Hope that helps.

Hello there. I'm after some advice. So I own a Boss Acoustic Singer Pro, I've been using the basic looper on that and for a while I've been looking to upgrade to a proper pedalboard. Was tossing between the RC30 and RC300. Right now I can get to RC 300 for $200 more than the RC30, I won't be busking so a powered unit is no problem but then I go and watch your videos on the Headrush..... Now, I'm at a point where i will probably get back into gigging, my patience levels with learning a product can be short, do you think Should stick with the Boss or just go headfirst and give the Headrush a go? Thanks in advance.
@JohnPaulMusicUK
@JohnPaulMusicUK 4 жыл бұрын
It’s a tough question. If you are after plug and play - go with the boss but go rc300! It’s easy enough to setup and will get you going. one you ‘hit the ceiling” with what the rc300 can do then go for a Headrush. The rc300 still holds its money so you wouldn’t loose out too much there. the Headrush thou.. It’s a lot more money but it’s an investment for me and they are developing the firmware so it’s relevant - or just go all in on the Headrush but you might want to join the forum and look for the updates. 👍🏻 Let me know what you decide.

Thanks for your videos about the Headrush John. I have a question. I just traded in my Voicelive 3X for a Headrush. Am I missing something with the Headrush? When I loop my foundation loop in loop 1 and add another longer loop in 2 loop 2 will start drifting if I stop and start it anytime during the song. I assume that sync and serial sync are the right modes for this? On the VoiceLive you just put it in smart mode and it took care of the stop and start syncing. Is there something in settings I need to change or should I get the latest firmware update? A little frustrated otherwise this looperboard is great...
@JohnPaulMusicUK
@JohnPaulMusicUK 5 жыл бұрын
Drifting?! I have never experienced that but the first thing I did even before I plugged anything into it was get the latest firmware. Yes you are doing the right thing being on either serial sync or sync. The only time it should drift is if you are on Free mode. Have a chat with the forum at headrushforum.com. They are great and really supportive and there are instructions there for the latest firmware update. 👍🏻

i'll be following! big thoughts about switching but boss has me. some questions that you might cover in the next video.. Assignments (can you customize the buttons?) External triggers/ Expression pedal (how to use and using.. Mic mute!) External midi - Bpm sync to anything, ableton/external keyboards..etc (Boss300 is not fun for sync)

Bongo Jak customising buttons - no but you can assign them to external via midi. Expression pedal - ive now added one to be the master volume control of all the loops External midi - usb and 5 pin - havent connected to my computer yet (apart from firmware upgrade) but doubles up as an audio interface as well.
