The whole point to the adapter plates is to pull them away from the oil pan, and tilt them back in so it clears the Frame, a arms , starter

Awesome Jon《☆》Good tip to drill 1/8" hole in the 180° thermostat🤓👍🏾I didn't drill mine & the top rad hose collapsed flat for a few minutes👽 I was starting to panic until the thermostat finally opened up🙏 I was massaging the hose & praying for it to open :*: Greetings from⛾Florida🤳my friend🤓🗣🔊☮✌👍🏾

@@leakyjeep5.9 how so? I can assure you that EVERY 5.3/5.9 I have ever done a thermostat on either 195 degree or 180 degree I have never had a problem with a single 1/8th inch hole. Never thrown a code for a thermostat stuck open with a single hole, but have had a few guys drill two holes on the 180 degree thermostats and get the stuck open code..... Just for reference, I have been a professional wrench slinger for over 20 years and have done several hundred thermostats on these motors. Unless you live in the far north and it's below freezing 9+ months out of the year, then I could see your point.
@leakyjeep5.94 жыл бұрын
@@bobbyd9583 Yep I'm up north, with a hole half that size it took over 10 min of driving to reach op temp. Most thermostats have some sort of jiggle valve or weep hole to avoid the issues you describe. If it didn't have one, I would not install it in these motors as they can be a royal pain to burp if you don't know the tricks.
@bobbyd95834 жыл бұрын
@@leakyjeep5.9 yeah I have seen aftermarket ones with that valve, but I tend to stick to OEM for thermostats, just seems to be better overall quality for the life of the part. as far as up north, you can't get away with that trick, us desert dwellers cold start at almost operating temp lol.

What gasket maker did you use brand wise I’m doing the same set up
@bobbyd95834 жыл бұрын
Not sure if I missed it, why are you using adapter plates on the headers? I literally have this same exact setup in my 2002 ram. Indy heads, hughes air gap, hogged out throttle body, same roller rockers.... my headers bolted right up.... I'm also curious to which valve covers you end up using..... I took the baffles out of my stock ones just to keep that stock look, but have been shopping around for something tall enough to fit that won't break the bank (not much out there LOL!) literally swapped my top end out in an afternoon, threw the tuner on it and have been treating her bad ever since. put roughly 9k miles on the new top end, so far so good. Night and day difference for sure, it came to life after this swap.

Great video jon love this kind of builds .. there sure is a lot of extra little teedius work that goes into jus having those roller rockers An guide plates an such .. never really new that thanks for sharing that And is it really worth the extra jus to have those roller rockers an such.. meaning so they really help make a noticeable difference ? Than stock ones ?
