Just wanna say I'm really digging the channel and the content. I'm a '99 Dak r/t owner so, I'm in love with the work you do. Love the new exhaust sound with the scat pack mufflers, you gave me an idea!! Also my r/t runs awesome but has 160,000 miles never abused. Do you think performing just this top end kit would be ok or just rebuild the entire engine?
@BoostedMotorsports4 жыл бұрын
Navi Daddy these motors are pretty stout! Probably be ok with just a refresh on the top but hard to say!

A couple of cooling system tricks that I have used that seem to work. Flush the heater core w/ a garden hose, flush both ways since a lot of crud can end up there. Will rot out the heater core also and they are no fun to replace. Before you drain the anti freeze put in about a cup of Dawn dish soap. Mixed w/ the anti freeze it will not foam up & will dissolve most oil & grease deposits. Nothing will dissolve rust or mineral deposits. Run the engine through at least 3 heat & cool cycles. Flush thoroughly. To do a better job flushing the block remove 1 of the freeze plugs on each side & force water through as best as you can. Most crud settles at the bottom of the water jacket. Removing & replacing the freeze plug can be tough but it will be worth it.

Sounds real good jon .. I think you got alot of the bugs outa the way with this already .. little easier an less stressful when it’s second time round eh lol.. looks good with valve covers an that intake .. be interesting seen how it performs An how it performs compared to yours .. for some reason I think yours sounds a little more thumpity than this one maybe jus difference in cams.. anyway good job an good video enjoy your little vacation cheers 🍻

Throw some Sea Foam fuel cleaner in the gas tank, should clean out the injectors no problem.

Is there anything you can tell us about the cam? I don't really understand the secrecy.
@BoostedMotorsports3 жыл бұрын
Yes call Brian at IMM Engines and he can get you setup with the cam 760-347-5493
@brianfrost3033 жыл бұрын
@@BoostedMotorsports Brian is currently doing my EQ heads with dual valve springs and minor porting on the intake pocket and pushrod pinch. Hoping to get some flow numbers just for curiosity's sake. He also spec'd a nice 219/229 112lsa cam with lots of lift and some Harland sharp 1.7 rockers to go with them. Suppose I already know the specs on the cam in the blue truck in your other videos.... Could you maybe just give me an idea how much more duration this cam has @ .050"? And how many degrees tighter or looser the lobe separation is?
@brianfrost3033 жыл бұрын
@@BoostedMotorsports I mean I'm hardly going to call Brian and waste his time asking about another customer's cam.. he specs them to each customers requirements. 😉
@BoostedMotorsports3 жыл бұрын
Me and Brian made spec’d the cam for exactly this purpose and to promote his shop so he would not mind at all asking him! I don’t have the specs in front of me but if I get a chance I’ll dig them up. Brian would be a faster response 😉

Disregard my suggestion to flush the block w/ a garden hose. You are in a subdivision & will be unable to do that. I live in a rural area & doing so is not a problem.

Viper rims. 3rd gen dakota's share the same bolt pattern as vipers. Probably running spacers in the rear for the 13" wide rims.
