Sometimes there are very strange noises in these videos and I don't know what's happening, but then I look at the subtitles and see "HAHAHAHA" and then I know that it's laughing. Thanks FailArmy! I'd be hopelessly confused without seeing "HAHAHAHA" in the subtitles 40 times in every video.

@@santosjohnson6401, precisely. I guess it's too much for whoever is transcribing these stupid clips to actually pay a modicum of attention and get it right. I'd estimate the captions don't match the words spoken a good 75 percent of the time. And some clips inexplicably have no captions even though talking (in English-- I don't expect the foreign language ones to have captions) is clearly heard. One of two things needs to happen on the part of the channel owner: either drop the idiotic captions entirely (they won't be missed-- we're not deaf and KZbin usually provides the "closed caption" option in case you're hard of hearing), or put a little effort into getting them right. I hope the owner of this channel sees this thread.

Wrong. Bones have no nerve endings, and a clean snap in half won’t feel pain for a minute or two after it happens. Instant pain is tendon/muscle/joint tearing, not bone.

Almost every ladder fail was one of the foldable type. I can’t believe people still use anything other than just a normal boring ladder. I don’t need one that can do like 20 half ass configurations. I want a ladder that only knows one shape.

I use the collapsible aluminum ladders all the time for work, but I also set them at the correct height for the task, don't over-balance on them, and adhere to the other basic rules of safe ladder use. Every time I see someone get hurt with a ladder, it's operator error. Every. Damn. Time.

Nothing wrong with a step ladder if used right. A “normal” ladder is lousy for interior house painting.

The ladders didn't fail. What no-one seems to be aware of is the lateral (sideways) force on the feet and the grip/friction that the feet have on the floor surface. 8 out of 10 ladder accidents happen because the foot grip isn't good enough for that lateral force. And if you're heavy and/or using too much slope in setting it up then that force is much more.

Pretty sure you are only talking about extensions ladders but 4 to 1 is the rule. Every 4 foot up your ladder should be 1 foot off the wall. Or a quick easier guide is to put your toes at the cleats then extend your arms out straight and they should naturally grab the sides. I wasn’t expecting such passion about those hippie ladders. Look at it this way, if I am going to hire someone to do plumbing work in my house, I want to a guy that exclusively does plumbing all day long. I don’t want a handyman that can do 100 different things half-ass.

I haven’t jumped out of a plane, but I hung out with some jumpers at The Ranch in upstate NY. I’m sure I’ll get this technically very wrong, but they said it’s a very high percentage of serious accidents and fatalities are misjudging that turn before landing. People end up slamming themselves into the ground.
